Centerpieces ~ Wedding |
| |
| Hey everyone, I need to rack your brains I am looking for ideas for frugal centerpieces, I have some ideas but I am not totally happy with them I want something that will be remembered but not something that's going to cost us a small fortune. Any ideas? I am trying to stay away from candles as the wedding is in the summer and with the guests in the small hall and the heat from candles I don't want it to heat up too much, nor do I want any accidents happening. I have thought of a potted plant in a nice pot but some people have allergies and I don't want to set anyone off. So you suggestions are totally welcomed. Thanks! | | | | | |

| | How about some vases from Wal-Mart and bulk silk flowers from ebay? Making them yourself will really cut costs. I'm making my own out of a vase with a few hand-glued rhinestones, some tulle at the neck and a pretty Betta fish with coloured stones. Cost me about $35 per centerpiece. | | | | | | |

| | I am sure there are so many ideas out there for center pieces. Since my husband and I decided to pay for everything ourselves and we were on a budget we got creative with our center pieces. What we did was bought heart shape glass bowls and filled them with water and put floating candles in them. We bought the candles in the colors of our wedding. Then around the bowls we took a bunch of babies breath and wrapped it around the bottom of the bowls. It really turned out pretty and was kind of different. Plus it was on the cheaper side. I know you are trying to stay away from candles but maybe you could use the bowls or flowers for something. Congrats on the wedding! | | | | | | |

| | http://www.creative-baby-... if you click the link it will take you to a site that will help and if you google how to make a diaper cake you find a lot. they have some pictures here to help. they are really nice cuz you can make them one layer or five layers its all up to you and then you can put what you want on them. once you get the cake together then be crative and put what you want on them. i love them you can make them for anything. you could also do a balloon arangment. get a litle vase which you can get at the dollar store and get the little heart balloons with some curling ribbon. they are cute and very cheap. if you search the net you can find some really great deals on some of this stuff. also you could make paper flowers to put in a vase. one of my freinds had vases with a plants and a betta fish in them. it was very nice but cost a little more. you can get picture frames and put pictures in them of you and your husband together or pictures of you guys as kids with fake flowers hot glued around the frame. ok thats all i can think of for now that don't have real flowers or candles but if i think of any more i will be back. | | | |

| | Flowers are always a great way to go. You can get tower vases (15 inch ones cost about $2 and put a single flower (or a few) in your wedding colors. We bought some small, but cute heart shaped vases for 50 cents each at Michaels (V-day sale) and we're making Hershey Kiss roses to put in them. We're going to fill up the vases with chocolates of some sort (one of our colors is chocolate brown). We're having a dessert reception so I think we're just in a chocolate/sweets mood. | | | | | | |

| | Something really neat is getting those LED candle lights. Put them under the clear colored marbles and just have them in clear vases. Its really neat and super cheap! I had an idea of what i wanted for my center pieces and the lady doing my flowers said it would cost about $55 per piece! I thought that was WAY to much, so I kept looking around. At Walmart after V-day I bought about 40 vases for only 80cents each when they sold for $5 each before V-day and was able to save a bundle that way. I'm buying silk flowers off ebay and just doing really simple center pieces. | | | | | | |

| | Well for my centrepieces we went to the dollar store and bought black iron candle holders. A square shape with a candle on each corner (so each holder holds 4 candles) and wrapped the iron in ivy. The candles were just tee lights so they don't give off much heat. But I read that you don't want candles so you may want to make a centerpiece out of fruit. Fruit looks good and the people can eat it too. | | | | | | |
