Right fizzy. I was making a point though. People are yelling that he's a Muslim. There is nothing to back that up with. They keep saying it and digging into his past. He says he went to a Christian school as a child so they dig and find out they accepted all denominations there, including Muslim. He said he's never been a Muslim and his father who was, left them when he was 2. People still call him Muslim, saying he's trying to hide it. If that were true... wouldn't they catch him praying 5 times a day facing east?! Please, it's ridiculous. If they were trying to find terrible things about him from his past... shouldn't they look for infidelity, crime, drugs. Things that are big time reasons not to vote for someone. It's just plain pathetic. No matter what he does or says to try and refute it... people scream "He's Muslim, He's Muslim." It's pretty annoying and immature.

I would also like to add--that when I look at the candidates for the race--I don't look at whether they are male of female--the color of their skin or even young or old. Who cares? What matters is if they can do the job or not.

That's exactly right. But everyone is entitled to an opinion. That's fine. But pulling the race card is groundless and wrong.

I think that with the race and gender issue involved this race is going to be messy no matter what. If democrats win the election - it will be said that they won only because it is the 1st black/female president. If they lose - it will be said that the only reason they lost was because of race/gender. No matter what happens the next 4 years someone will be whining about how unfair this election was. That is the only reason I can see why we are not ready for a black/woman president - or for that matter a nominee. Apparently it is already manifesting itself here on mylot.

Thanks Karen. After my previous incarnation here and the junk that went on with the stars then, I don't really care anymore. But I have been able to see where politics is going to be my undoing. But I can't help it. Ignorance is still ignorance. And I will go down standing on the bridge of my lil boat!

And you and everybody else is free to disagree with me. I have a friend on here and another board that doesn't trust Obama and instead is pulling for Hillary. That's okay. You can believe anything you want to believe. I'm going with my guts despite the fact that I cannot cast my one vote due to a small nationality problem.
You don't have to have a reason for mistrusting someone. I personally don't trust Hillary. I don't know why, but there is something in my guts that I don't trust about her. But IF she is elected, we'll find out if my guts were right won't we?

Besides having a google search window right there, it also comes with and awesome pop-up blocker and a spell checker that works an place you have a text box that you can insert comments into.
I use it here frequently when I am suspect of my spelling.

Barak made a comment tonight to Anderson Cooper about voters. He said that those who didn't like him before his last speech, probably still don't like him. And those that liked him before, will still be there probably. But he was trying to clarify for the supporters he has now and for those who aren't sure.

Well, I honestly can say I do not try to get into discussions about politics, because they can get pretty heated.....LOL:)
But I will add my two cents worth here, which probally doesn't mean a lot to some of you, but I am concerned about who gets in as out next President....he is one who guards our country with the decisions he makes. I want someone in there who loves our country. I do not like anything about Obama, not because he is black, I have some very good friends who are black, color is not the issue with me, it is the fact that I do not believe from what I have seen & heard from Obama, not the TV.....that he is going to have the best interest of the USA at heart. We should be very careful who we vote in our government offices, because we will be held responsible for it.
We should care what these elects stand for, good moral issues that have good moral standards for our people of the USA. One should be concerned about what these people believe in, are they making the best decisions for our people....or better yet will they? We should not sit back and say we don't care who or what they do. These people are gonna be the next Commander in Chief to run our country, do we not want good , honest, moral people in there. I know I do and therefore I will sit this election out this year, as I do not see anyone on the ballots I would even consider to vote for.
The one I would have voted for has left the campaign, therefore I choose not to cast my vote for any of the remaining ones.
And about the "muslim" theory...well Obama himself said he was raised in the Muslim faith, mind you he now goes to a Trinity Christian Church where his pastor stands in the pulpit and uses profane language against America.
