joining the national guard! tips anyone?  | |  well today i've decided that im going to join the national guard. i really need to money to pay back my lame student debt and i need some direction in my life.
is anyone here in the national guard?
can someone give me tips on whats it like, etc?
i would go and sign up tomorrow, but i exceed the maximum weight. im ashamed to admit that im 165lbs, and the max. weight for my height is 120lbs. so im only about 50lbs away! so i'm going to HAVE to start running and doing push ups.

| | | | | | 1. georgette1 (61)  | 2 years ago |  I was in the national guard for eight years. I joined because I wanted to not because I needed to make some extra cash. I will give you the same advice that I have giving others. do not join unless you are absolutly sure that is what you want to do. Basic training is not easy and will take alot out of you if you are not mentally and physically ready for it. in other words you will not make it thru. it is not as easy as it seems. and don't forget guards men and woman go to war too. So be sure. on the other hand if military is something that you enjoy Then you will love it as I did.
