CD-RW problem  |

|  I have a samsung CD-RW. The writer is not ejecting when I press the eject button. I have been facing this problem for quite some time. I decided to remove the CD writer and then re-attach it. The eject worked couple of times after that, but now once again it gets jammed. What could be the problem here? I have another DVD writer, but I like to get my CD drive working so that I can use both of them in parallel.

| |  Did a cd broke in it or something like that? Maybe you should try opening it and cleaning it. I doubt it's still in warranty. :P Sometimes the mechanism which pushes the tray gets jammed with dust or other stuff.
If the light on the writer isn't blinking when you start your PC, or when you press the eject button, then the unit could be fried, or your power supply is on a deathbed. I had a similar case once, when a computer wouldn't start untill I would either take out a optical drive, a hdd, or the tv tuner. It just couln't handle all those consumers.
Also, check the power cable, to see if it's cut off or something. Try another one with the writer, and see if it does the same.

| |  Did you notice if you already have a cd inside it...it will always respond to the eject procedure? If it happens that means the mechanism is a bit old and that maybe dust is inside...try to open the drive and clean the mechanism...
Is windows recognizing the drive? Is it powered up and not opening the try?
If yes it would be definitly the tray is dusty...

| |  first , u should clean each part cd-rw with soft brush. restart compuer if not works , buy new one, dont waste ur money in repairing.

| |  Screech have you tried to eject from inside windows? one other thing that might open it is there is a tiny hole in the front of the CD-RW if you straighten a paper clip and push it into that hole whilst pressing the eject bottom, 9 times out of 10 it will open then you can clean it, and use canned air in there to blow it out good and check the tracks.
