Gym memberships - Do you take advantage or not? |
| |
| I keep getting in phases where I want to work out and start turning around my life. A few years ago I bought a gym membership at the Athletic Club for a year and I think I only went twice. About a year ago I got another gym membership at 24 Hour Fitness and went maybe 2 times a month on average ever since. I just switched back to the Athletic Club and I wonder if I'm really gonna get at it this time. My boyfriend got me started on playing racquetball for the first time yesterday and I think this will be my main motivator. What are your motivations to go to the gym and what kind of workouts do you do? Which is the better gym? | | | | | |

| | I used to be a member of a gym and even had a trainer. Now I just have an elliptical at home which I try to use each day. It is harder for me to exercise if I have to go somewhere else to do it! | | | | | | |

| | Lol, yea it seems like most would just rather work out at home, I just don't think I have enough room for everything. I need something that will take care of my entire workout with one piece. o.o Yoga and tai chi seems fun. I want to learn about pilates as well. Did you learn it from researching online? | | | |

| | i learned some yoga positions from different things online, but mostly just bought dvds and learned the routines, far as the weight training and cardio.. meh, those are ( or was to me anyways ) simple logics. you want yer arms toned.. you work yer arms.. legs, work yer legs.. etc. ive also got the benefit of two flights of stairs in my house so i have a built in stair master LOL and i walk alot. have a weight bench and freeweights ,a rowingmachine and a stationary bike, along with yoga mats and the vids. looking into getting a treadmill so i can still walk when the weather is nasty. and all of this cost me less than 2 years at the gym =o) | | | |

| | Yea I get impulsive like that too. Whenever I get a new interest I buy, buy, buy. And then I just get tired of it. Like I was so addicted to this one game, played it every single day. And then I bought the premium package, and for some reason the day after I bought it, I quit the game. Blah lol. | | | |
