cell phones, we think we decided |
|
Last night we went out looking at cell phones, and while we are very close to being out of our contract, if not completely out of it, we know that in 2 more weeks when we are for sure out of our contract that we will be getting new phones,
Both my husband and I are looking at the tilt phone, or the blackberry
But they have already told us that we won't need a security deposit, that we can get a discount on my husbands phone as he would get a discount through his place of employment.
But we have pretty much decided that we want to go with ATT & Cingular, and that the phones that I have been dealing with from Verizon and their crappy system and tech support ----
Never again will I give Verizon any money if I can help it......
You know I think I've figured out why they have so many people following the guy in the commercial.......
He needs that many to help him service the crappy phones....
I just really hate all the upfront costs of switching phones again.
Because its not worth me going to Verizon to have them look at my phone again as its starting to not make calls.
In fact there are times if I call out, the phone will ring on my husbands end and just go dead on mine, and he gets nothing but static....so I am truly unhappy with my phone
Mooch

2. sugarfloss (1730) | 2 years ago | hey oneandonemakesix!I don't know how it works with telecommunication services over there but where I'm at,we get any phone of our choice be it a Nokia,SonyEricsson,Samsung,LG,Sony,Ericsson,O2,etc,etc.And we get to choose our own service providers too;Maxis,Celcom,Digi,TM.And we,too, get to choose if we want a prepaid or postpaid account.I've tried all the service providers and I'm happy with my service provider now and I'm very happy with my Sony Ericsson Z610i.I hope you make a choice of getting your new phone.Never be satisfied!Cos that's what we,customers should be;)Hope this helps!

3. ctrymuziklvr (4677) | 2 years ago | I've never tried Verizon but I did have a lot of trouble with Cingular and I think that was because at the time they changed over to AT&T or something. At one point I had them turn off my phone for a few months and they were supposed to bill me something like $25 a month to keep my service but they kept billing me over $100 a month and I wasn't even using it. Since I only use my phone for emergencies and to call a cab I finally decided to go with a cheaper phone and pay as you go with Tracfone and am very happy with it. I only needed tech support one time and that was because of something that I did and they were awesome.

5. KrisNY (7347) | 2 years ago | Wow.... I'm surprised. I love my Verizon phones. They are actually the only service provider that is clear in this area. My cousin has Cingular and she has no reception up here at all.... Verizon is the only plan that has reception in the country. I hate the price of cell phones. Our plans are up in November... Not sure what I will do then- I'm hoping that Altell is around here by then. Good luck picking new phones and a new provider.

6. blackbriar (6227) | 2 years ago | That's odd. I've been with Verizon for 6 yrs. and never had a problem with tech. support or customer service. Recently, both our phones' battery went dead at almost the same time. Just went to the store and they put new batteries in free of charge being they were only a year old. B4 that, my hubby's phone was acting up a few years ago. We took it to the store and they ended up sending him a new phone. No hassles or anything. Out of all the cell providers in IL, I've heard time and again that Verizon has the best reception with very few dropped calls or other service problems. My bro is going to switch from Cingular to Verizon at the end of his contract cause he's tired of not having service in certain areas he has to work in. My phone worked just fine in the same areas. 9 times out of 10 when I call him or he calls me, always having dropped calls or lots of air/static from his phone to where we give up talking. Hope you have better luck than my bro did with Cingular. Glad I didn't switch when I was thinking about it.

7. suspenseful (17075) | 2 years ago | Here in Canada we have a different problem, our data rates are sky high so actually all we can use our cell phones for are listening to music we downloaded and oh yes, talking. I do not know if texting is including in the phone or the data part. We have two main popular companies, Rogers and Telus. Now Rogers also includes Fido and they make world phones, but Telus is considered Canadian is the old cms or whatever they call it, and that works only in Canada and the States, so if you want to prove yourself a real Canadian you have to use Telus and do not travel outside if you cannot help it. I think if I were to go to the States to live, I would go with A T & T. It is available all over the States and is a better company. As for Verizon, I would get paranoid with so many people following me.

8. Darkwing (7519) | 2 years ago | As I'm in England, I don't know a lot about American cell phones, but I have heard of Verizon. My friend, in New Jersey, used them as an ISP, and was always having problems with her Internet Connection, not to mention her computer! One time, she was down for a whole month, before she could get back online.
I use Virgin now, but I found O2 gave a great service. Do you have Virgin in the States? They'd be well worth a try.
Brightest Blessings.

9. YorkieBear (980) | 2 years ago | I think I have used every cell phone service that there is. I have been with Alltel for over 25 years. I also have Verizon but, have only had it a little over a year. I have not really had any problems with either of them. But, I will say, as you can tell by how long I have been with them, that Alltel has been the best (for both plan prices and service) that I have ever used.
