Do you like trekking? I've done trekking on a couple of hills and mountains when I was in my teens. I remember once I lost my footing, and was not far away from falling into a gorge luckily I caught hold of a tree branch, and found my balance. Boy sometimes the heights can make you feel dizzy. Have you ever gone trekking? If yes, share some of your memorable events. Do you still go trekking?

1. maximax8 (4812) | 7 months ago | I have done trekking in the past but now I have a young baby in a pushchair I don't do it anymore. I would like to get a back carrier and continue my country and coastal walks with him and my two dogs. I liked it in New Zealand with its many walking tracks and scenic landscape. Multi day trekking is a wonderful thing to do there. They call this activity tramping. I walked the Abel Tasman Walkway past beautiful beaches and I crossed a few rivers. I camped at small and picturesque sites. I walked the Queen Charlotte Walkway in the Malborough Sounds region. It was a more challenging walk, especially day three a 9 hour walk mostly over a narrow ridge way. I have been up a mountain in Norway above the Arctic Circle, up Mount Warning in Australia and up a mountain in New Zealand. I was short of time so came down the route for experienced climbers only. I was lucky to get down it safely. You were lucky to catch hold of a tree branch and not fall into the gorge.

2. theprogamer (7373) | 7 months ago | Well I'll discount the "star" version... heh. But yes back in my youth I always wanted to trek, to waltz to go far. There was even a little creek that held my wonder back in my youth. It was a place for random trekking and retreat. I don't really trek as much now since most things are just common walks and common areas.

4. wolfie34 (11413) | 7 months ago | I did a lot of trekking when I was up in Scotland, it's a beautiful part of the world and the scenery is totally breathtaking. You can walk miles and miles and there's nothing but scenery, wildlife, lochs all around. Absolutely beautiful, fresh air, trekking is great, nothing like it but boy does it take it out on the feet! I suffer with blisters on my feet and many times I have gone trekking and the day after my feet have had to be in soak because they are too sore. My mind is willing but not my feet for trekking!

5. kissie34 (709) | 4 months ago | Yes, i have already been experiencing trekking in different mountains in our places... In every trekking that I had made, I have many different experience.. My most unforgettable experience is when we got lose..Actually, we hired someone who can lead us the way into waterfalls.. At that time, the weather is not good... It was raining, so the soil is slippery...We are really hard time to walked going up since we were using slippers... So,6 of them plus the guide left behind and the others are already on top... At the time, it is ok for us to be at the last since we have someone to lead our way... After walking 1 hour, our guide is already not comfortable.. He keep on finding some footprints and some clues... Then one of our friends ask him where will go now since there are 2 directions... Then he finally told us that this is the first time he went that place and he never think that we will lose the others... So,the other girl that was our companion was already panic because what he had said... So,we don't have choice but to just try those two directions and find some clues for us to find them... Until we got into river and we was an old lady washing clothes at the river... We asked her if she saw other group passed by but she told us that she don't saw anything... We just asked the old lady where is the way to g to the waterfalls and she point us the way... We need to passed the river then we need to rappel from the trees to go up to river.. because the waterfalls is at the back of those trees... We don't have any choice but follow what the old woman said.. At that time, we don't have ropes for us to climb the trees... So,we don't have any choice but to use the branches of trees to hold on until we reach the top... It is very dangerous things that we have done because anytime the branches will break, but thanks God the branches didn't break... When we reach the top, we found out that we need to climb down again because we are already stock and there is no other way to walk.. So,again we used the branches of trees to go down.. It seems that we are rappelling using branches of trees... Our hands was really hurt because of that branches... After, we reach the other side of the trees we follow the river... Until we find out that we are at the top of the waterfalls... Some of our friends tried to help us to go down.. We don't have any choice but to go down from the top of the waterfalls... It is a very nice experience even though it is really tired... Some of our friends were jealous because they didn't experience what we had experience...
