How can other people be so mean?

Because unfortunately that is some peoples nature, sometimes loved ones can be mean when they have things troubling them or they are in a bad mood, strangers can be mean because they are just not nice people anyway, or they are jealous of you just by looking at you!! I am not sure why you feel like this or what has caused it but if someone has been mean to you then they have achieved what they set out to do, to make you think you are worthless and make you sad. Hope you do not let them win by being sad.

I have no idea really. I think they are just bullies. I have always bee treated that way all of my life, even in my adult years. I do not know what people's problem is with me. I do nothing but good things for them and they treat me horrible in the end or during our so-called friendship. I stay away from people now because of it. I do not deserve that treatment from them and neither do you. I have tried for many years to be kind to people but I never get treated the same way in return.

I understand you. the best solutions for these poeple is not to response just leave them neglected. I really hate them.

I am so sorry if someone has said something unkind to you. Just think, though what might happen if they were nice to your face and only said mean things behind your back. It is much better to know what kind of people they are now than later, and surely their opinion does not count for much. If they were friends, you can find better ones. If not, then who cares what they think? You are special and clearly you are a nice person, so you will win out in the end. Hang in there!

lexie i agree with gemini.try not to let these people get to you.try to be better than they are and ignore them and they will soon leave you alone especially if they can see they do not get a reaction from you.if you let them see you are depressed from their efforts they will keep on doing it.you are young and it hurts like hell at the moment.i keep telling my daughter try to ignore them and what comes around goes around.cheers sue

They are like the wild-growing plant in wheat field. That is how people are because God created this world with goods and bads. Our roles are to try to make them more kindly or if we couldn't just ignore them. I think that if we know that someone said something bad about us we don't have to believe them, we have to know who we are after all and we have to trust in us. But we have to take in consideration the advices that our acquaintances give to us seriously because it can be real (we are not perfect).

Some people enjoy putting others down, they get a sick kick out of it and it makes them feel better, which makes them shallow and not worth knowing. I think you are a wonderful friend and have lots to give and have you ever wondered if these people say these things because they are jealous of you? They wish they had your great qualities and see them void in themselves so they put you down to make them feel better. I get this all the time and that's why I am negative about myself, it's a slippery slope and when your self esteem is low you take their comments on board. Who are they? Ask yourself that, and you are worth a hundred, correction a thousand times more than them.

I don't know why people choose the nasty side of life. I guess in some small way it must make them feel better to know they have been able to make others feel inferior.

You are certainly right in saying that type of behaviour is not acceptable. There is no need to say hurtful things, it just creates more pain and suffering in a world that is already over run with it.

As for other peoples perception of you, well, you can not control what others think they see. You just have to trust in the knowledge, that in your mind, heart and soul, you are a good person or doing the right thing.

I sympathize. You're going alone fine, and then wham! Out of the blue someone does something or says something incredibly mean. It happens in daily life and it happens on mylot. It takes a while to get over the hurt. It's like something that can't quit playing in your mind. I think a lot of time people are so mean because they don't have control over their lives and they are unhappy. And if they are unhappy, they are determined for us to be unhappy too.

When someone is being mean to me, I look at it like it is there problem not mine. For some people it is in their nature to be mean and they just have a miserable life and want to make other people's lives miserable. I try not to ever be mean to anyone, even if I am having a bad day. I don't like it when someone is mean to me, so I am not mean to others. I try to avoid conflict at all times.
