When do you make your bed... or do you?

I have a habit of always making the bed the moment I get up. I think that, at least when the beds are made, all the bedrooms appear tidier right away. It makes me feel better to start a day with some things accomplished quickly LOL I know people that never make their bed. They say it's pointless. I can't imagine it being really comfortable getting into a rumpled up bed every night but to each their own!
So, what about you? Do you make the bed while it's still warm (LOL) or do you leave it unmade until later in the day... OR do you never make it at all? Why?
My kids think I'm neurotic about bedmaking so I figure it will be interesting to find out that HOPEFULLY I'm not alone :)

Hi thinkingoutloud, no need of any bedmaking at all out here for the last four months, it's been so hot and humid that the only thing on my bed is a sheet and pillow so no fuss at all. Just hope there's another month before some kind of covers are necessary.

Oh how I love the temperate months of the year... I'm in Canada, thea09, so it has already cooled off here now. Blankets are back at night. I miss the summer already :(

We tend to get both... but, yes, we definitely get crisp cold in the winter. The kind that steals your breath as soon as you go outside or, at the very least, makes it painful to breathe. Sometimes, I wonder why I still live here LOL

Unfortunately Greece no longer has a cooling off period, it goes from too hot with the fan on all night to winter the next. I hate winter inside the house as it is warmer outside and her it is a miserable damp cold which can lead to mould. I have heard though that it can get dreadfully cold in Canada, but I always imagine a crisp cold rather than a damp one.

I usually make the bed every three or four days when I change the bed linen. Having an unmade bed doesn't bother me a bit but not having the sheets and pillow cases changed every couple of days drives me up a wall.

I love that smell too. Besides the wonderful smell it always brings back memories of my mom. I can still see her with her wicker laundry basket clothes pinning the sheets end to end.

Oh I'm big on fresh linens too! :) It bothers me when I can't hang them out on the line to dry because nothing beats that fresh smell when you make up the bed straight from the clothesline! ;)

Hi thinkingoutloud,
messy house is strictly nono with me. I dont like messy room, messy closets ( almirahs) or messy beds. So as soon i get up and fresh myself and brush my teeth, first thing i do is make my bed. I like it clean and the bed sheet has to be wrinkle free. On sunday or holidays i do have an afternoon nap and would always make my bed perfect in my eyes as soon as i get out of the bed. This way room looks clean and tidy.

I'm like you, asweetie, about the non-wrinkled sheets. I pull them tight and tuck them so they are unwrinkled. My older daughter is not as particular about the wrinkles and it sometimes shows right through the top comforter. That's when I find myself undoing her bed and remaking it so it looks tidy LOL I can't help it - if I don't, I'll notice it every single time I pass by her door.

You are not alone.
I would like to make the bed as soon as I get up, but sometimes, my hubby is still sleeping soundly, and if he does not have to go to work early, then I will have to wait until he wakes up. I will be sitting in front of my laptop and look at him wishing he would get up soon or do the laundry first and after I finish, I would check on him so that I can make up the bed! I just want to see everything in place starting from the bedroom before I start my day, but it seems that it's not going to happen every day.

I have a lot of days like that, too, corrycrystal. No one in the house is on the same schedule... so sometimes I want to vacuum, for example, but someone else is sleeping. Drives me kind of crazy LOL I feel like, instead of going through and doing everything once for the day, I'm constantly going backwards.

Wow... a California King... I'm jealous :) We just have a double. It's a family "heirloom," actually... the set belonged to my maternal grandparents and, as much as I'd like something bigger, I don't want to give it up for the sentimentality and emotional connection. Strange that I can connect emotionally to furniture hehe

I make my bed most days.. mostly cause i'm living back with my mom for now, and she come sinto this room we rent because her pc is in here..
She wakes up much later in the day then us, so after i get up get the kids breakfast and we come back downstairs to get dressed or put on some laundry i make the bed.
When we had our own place and i was the only one that had to look at the bed unmade i couldnt care less if it ever got made. . but then again taht was before i had a 250$ bedset. lol my mother inlaw gave us a lot of money to buy some things we needed to move back to this province, so we got a lot of nice new expensive things. i'm excited to move out to use my new pots and pans and lamps and kitchen gadgets and SQUARE dishes. i love square dishes.

i make it a point to make it before doing anything else..there are days i fail to do it, so before my hubby arrives, i also fix it up!

Me, i do make my bed. I wanted to be well equipped and clean everytime I wake up. I clean my room as i clean myself in the morning. Sometimes i will reflect on you when you will not keep your things clean. I am a lady i suppose to be clean and well equipped always.

Err,good question!During my school times,I did never make my bed the moment I got up unless there's some room check-up by my tutors.I thought it'll be totally not meaningful to tidy them up!!When I have my own sweet home,my thought is changed drastically.I'm or my wife now making my bed at the morning, which makes our bedroom more tidy and comfortable.LOL

i can see why people would make their beds in the morning, ya it would make your room look a little bit tidier and also its nice to get into a freshly made bed...nice and fresh!
i on the other hand don't make my bed...and honestly, its pretty much because i'm too lazy to do it! LOL not gonna lie

LOL! Honesty's the best policy, right? I know a lot of people that leave in the morning without making their bed. I know one person that makes it when they get home from work and I'm thinking "what's the point?" LOL Almost time to get back into it!

For me, I will usually spread out my blanket the reverse side after I wake up. This is to air it.
Then I will go for breakfast and attend to my grooming after which I will come back and make the bed.
