is it easy to forgive or to forget?

It think that it is no surprise that forgiving is easier than forgetting what one has done. Sometimes forgiving (not just saying it) and really meaning it can be hard depending on what the person has done. But all otgether forgetting is close to impossible(unless one has some sort of disorder).

the person that can hurt us most is the ones we love, when you are together it seems "heaven on earth" that same person can also be the reason for "hell on earth" feeling. and if that happens,only time will heal the wounds and you can learn to forgive & forget...its also not healthy to hold grudge it will only makes life miserable and unbearable...so i believe to learn to forgive and forget^_^

It is easier for me to also forgive but I can never forget either. I have been treated badly by alot of people in my life and I will never forget it because I always went out of my way for them and I also explained to them how much I have been through and hurt I get. they do bad things to me anyway and I will never forget it. I have forgave them within myself but they do not know it. I don't speak to them no more. I stay away from people like that.

i agree with you,i find it easier to forgive then to forget,i've forgiven a lot of people that done me wrong,but i just can't forget..

I agree with you. I have done alot of forgiving but I will never forget.

You know gie, I am sorry to say this, but after years and years of forgetting stuff, it is all coming back to me now, and wow! do I have a lot of forgiving to do LOL

Its like it is easy to say its over but hard to let go. When you love some one, you give that person automatically the right to hurt you but doesn't mean to ruin your life. The deepest love you give is the deepest hurt will cause.
No matter how we forgive, there were still things that will remind us about our past and as long as you try to forget, the hardest it is.
As a result, it will remind us about the pain that person leave us.

I have to say its definitely easier to forgive than forget.

Having told off the people that raise me and having gotten angry and upset with them I have to say its something I struggle with, forgiving them, but more than that, I won't forget what I went through and I won't put myself through situations that I've been through so that entails remembering and learning from the past.

Hi gie, for me it is rather easy to forgive someone that had done something wrongly. But I couldn’t forget how he had hurt me. Human feeling is very much different from the computer which could delete away anything unwanted just by clicking the mouse or pressing the delete key. I don’t believe one could utterly forget about someone who did hurt him seriously before.

I think it depends how deep the injury is. if its from a person that you believed and trusted so much, you can never forget and forgive.It also varies from person to person. With time also some pain goes away.
