single ladies and standards  

i guess its normal to have standards, after all we all want to end up with a good one, if not the best out there. The thing is, when our standards are set too high, we just dont seem to find any - when you reach past the marrying age and all your friends are married, and you are still single... obviously you will be surprised as to how desperate one can be.

I suppose ladies should look around, and date as much as they can and choose wisely, we can never be happy just by having security in our finances - there must be love involved in any relationship for it to work.

I dont think the majority of women are looking for the type of man you described...I actually think that that sort of line of thinking is way outdated actually...All the women I know (including myself) just want a man who loves them, respects them, isnt a freeloader and so on....

Everyone has standards, even men, but where women standards are usually on the job and such mens standards are usually on the looks. Some people just set the standard too high because they don't want to end up hurt. If you don't meet the expectations than there is no reason for her to get attached and therefore she prevents herself from possibly getting hurt in the long run. And besides why should one settle for the one they can live with, they should only settle when they find the one that they can't live without.

Everyone has standards. My idea of high standards is a little different. I think you have high standards if you are looking for a good man, a man whose supportive, a hard worker,honest and loyal, now that is high standards.If he's a doctor or engineer thats just the icing on the cake.

i remember the documentary i have seen last 3 months ago on TV on an australia local channel.. it was all about women's high standards on choosing a mate.. the documentary doesnt just focused on people/human but as well as on animals and insects.

the sense of security, the preferred appearance and the measuring of importance given by the partner is highly being mattered on choosing someone to call them(the girl) "their own". this is because the emotions of women is much more (obviously) sensitive than the counter part gender. when it comes to protection, not just in terms of physical protection but future protection...women are very standardized. why?--> my answer is why not?

each on a family for example has a purpose. the man is the foundation and the strongest character while the woman is the support.. if the woman chose a man who cannot even stand then how will the woman support him? doesnt it mean the woman has to do the responsibility of the man?

...choosing appearance...the reason why EVERYBODY (not only woman) has own standards when it comes of choosing mates is because of social impact that he or she might suffer/accomplish. this is always natural.. it may be unacceptable to our own logical thinking but that's the way reality is. who can deny?

the natural way of living of every human is unchangeable unless you intentionally try to be opposite to what you call "nature"

When my friend Stephanie was 17 she would not settle for less than perfect. He has to be an underwear model, rich, never lie, drive a nice vehicle and also go to the same church as her. I joked with her about it a little. I have lost touch with her, but heard that she has gotten married. I would love to see what her husband looks like just to see if she got what she wanted. Odds are that she did not. It would be mean I guess to through it up in her face that she had to finalyl accept reality and lower her standards.

i think there will always be some standard. you like it or not. love is the main thing in marriages. but there is always bettter to have a standard because out of standard is also difficult to adjust in future.

all of us have standards. even you guys. young people (like me. haha!) are often idealistic. but they say when your age comes out of the calendar and you're still single, these standards drop drastically. hope it won't happen to me! :P

I only have high standards in the looks and attitude departments.. I don't need a lawyer to make me happy, but a nice looking guy to hug me everynight helps a lot. =]

Yes, i agree with you. It's quite a strange phenomena, especially in China.
Many single ladies want men tall , handsome , well- educated ,highly-paid, with a cottage things like that. It makes em feel that these ladies they are not finding someone to grow old with but to find money only.
I really hope those ladies can wake up, life is no fiction, isn't it?
Find someone you love, and work hard together with him and make a better life for both of you. Ain't that happiness?
