ladym33 (1537) | 5 months ago | If it was armed robbery I would just probably do what ever they asked, nothings worth getting shot over. If I saw them shoplifting I would discreatly call the police and let them deal with it. I might try to cleverly keep them in the store longer to give the police a chance to get there. I saw something on TV the other where a store owner had put up a couple of security cameras, he sees people shop lifting all the time. If they try to walk out with out paying he will yell at, "Hey did you forget to pay for that candy bar in your pocket." Or if they come to the register to pay for something he said something like, OK that will be .99 for the soda, and .75 cents for the candy bar in your pocket." I thought it was pretty funny.

2. rintintin (2348) | 5 months ago | Give them what they want and dont argue, and dont be a have a go hero. If some robber pulls a gun and kills you, well,to me that makes it a good reason just to give them what they want.

| 3. snovamp (40) | 5 months ago | I work in retail, a grocery store.. And in our store, the baby aisle is directly across from the floral department ( where I work). A few weeks ago, a young guy came in with a hand basket. He went down the baby aisle and started grabbing a bunch of baby formula. It was a quick theft.. I called for security ( who I think was snoozing at the time). Guy walked calmly out the front door still carrying the hand basket. I chased him to a waiting car.. with no plates.. grrr.. I went back into the store and called security again and the guy said "Do you know how many cameras I have to watch???" I was irked to no end. I went to my manager the next day and complained.. It's hard enough when we are faced with being robbed..without our security in place, it's useless.. Yes, I am brazen to the point of following to the getaway car and grabbing a plate, should their be one.

4. jc_star10 (734) | 5 months ago | If a person in my store steal? Try to stop the guy and ask him to show what he is stealing. It's will go on chaos i know, but there's the only way to stop him/her from stealing. Of course, I must make sure that i have the evidence before accuse him/her.

| 5. snovamp (40) | 5 months ago | Case in point, today at work, a guy in the baby aisle attempted to put a can of formula under his shirt.. I let him know I saw him and then alerted my manager, who called security.. The guy left the store.. I wish they'd put the formula behind the courtesy booth.. That would be one way to cut down on the thieving. They can't steal what they can't get their mitts on...

6. globaldoc2001 (4825) | 2 months ago | what you do is inform the guard.if there is no guard around, you should get another guy or two guys to be with you, wait and follow him until he steps out of the store.that's the time you stop him,ask for the products and the receipt.if there is no receipt, that's it.you cannot stop him while he is inside the store.by any chance,he can say that he intends to pay up upon going out of the store.but if he has already stepped out of the store,he will be guilty and all evidences will point to him.
