The guy's wrong. The boards were being changed and everyone was warned about what to do to prevent loss. The new owner is fine and morachat is fine too.

Whether this guy is wrong or not is not up for me to decide. You don't know all the facts as to what he read or didn't read. He may have just missed it and was going by what he heard. Anyways, I have no interest in morachat anymore. I found it to be boring and it just doesn't match up to mylot.

Actually, you start from zero, at payout which was bumped up to $10, you recieved dollar for dollar (maybe). So for the average poster, that would be months before you MIGHT see your money if any.
I am suspect of that. I have been promised lots by other 'new' site owners.

Furthermore, even if the new owner didn't have any obligation for past debts, he does have an obligation for current and existing debts to the people who frequent the site.
So for him to zero the payables, and hold the current site frequenters hostage to the site to have any hope of recovery is extortion and thus fraud.

If it is the same one he is proberly kicking people out a lot also right? It might not be the same Chris but it sure sounds like him and I think it is bery wrong whoever it is what he is doing.

Joyfulone, I dont agree with Everything Mikes says but I do agree on this point. When you purchase an existing business, the debt comes with the business. When you owe on a bank credit card and the bank gets bought, do you think the new owner clears your debt out? NO! They want the money you spent on that credit card! Also, the admin said above he didnt realize he was buying a paid to post forum and later did some researhing? Later??? Who buys a business and doe not know what he is buying??? Too many red flags for me. To make it clear, this is the only point I am in agreement with Mike. The rest of the comments, sorry.

Chris has kept us up to date on all the issues at MoraChat every step of the way. If you buy a domain not all the files come with that domain and that is where some of the issues have come from. He is more than willing to pay us the previous monies owed to us. He even gave us amble time to copy and paste or just write down the total money owed. As stated, when we reach payout now we will also get the past money owed as well.
There have been many sites shutting the doors and leaving us all with a bad taste in our mouths, but here is one that did shut their doors and when it re-opened, we found someone who is showing good business sense and in good faith. Why don't you go and chase these down,the ones that just shut down and owe thousands of $$ to thousands of members that earned them the thousands of $$.
We all liked Bryon and I am sorry that he fell ill again. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. But he is the one that still owes us the money. This is nothing like a credit card company or a bank, you really can not compare the two.
So I will be a member at MoraChat and enjoy the stay with the rest of the family and promote it as I did before but show that it is even better and still improving.

Just to set one thing straight: If you properly read chris's post you will see that he infact only puchased the domain name. There was no mention in the sale that they used to be payed to post forum sites. It was only when he did some research that he found this out. He then contacted Jenn to see if she still had the site files, which she did so she gave them to us, and we put morachat back up.

The reset wasn't made to get rid of money, but to celebrate the new management. The old money will still be given out.

My back went up as soon as my posts, which appeared on the new server began to disappear.
Then the earnings went away only to be held hostage for who knows how long?
Sorry. Website owners who get sites like Mora for a song and then all you see is more fiddling. Sorry, my guts say you are wrong. I have learned to trust my guts.

If you read the post PRIOR to changing over to the new server, it stated the some of the newer posts may not show up on the new server. We also got an early warning on this too. We were also told in posts minute be minute when the server change was going to happen, Chris even told us of a delay of the change.
Why is it that I was away on a vacation and came back in the middle of the changes at MoraChat and I know more about it than you do Mike????

I knew about the server change. And wasn't suprised to see odd things happening during that process.
However, AFTER the change and immediately prior to this, my posts began to disappear.
And only after some digging around did a couple of them pop back up.
But in every instance, whenever a post was snatched away, there was a telltale response notification sent to me.
That dinging sound you might be hearing are the alarm bells going off.
I don't care for censorship. And I don't like being cheated.
I posted about team playing in US politics and that post is gone. It may suddenly reappear now as have some of my other posts.
But the trust issue is damaged without repair.
If this is how Chris chooses to conduct business, he does it without the likes of me.

My name is Rachael and i'm chris's wife (the new admin at morachat).
The reason your posts "dissapeared" was because we were tidying up the site and getting rid of all posts concerning Bryan. This was done so that morachat could have a fresh start, leaving all the ill feeling about bryan behind us.

Before we did this we took a copy of the database so that once you next reach payout you will still be payed for those posts that were taken off the site. So that nobody looses out.

This saddens me as you were a big part of the mora chat family. I know that people are reserved about this--but truly you can only let Chris prove himself. He doesn't even owe that to us. He didn't even need to open Mora chat back up and now there is a possibility that Mora Traffic will open back up. Chris told us when he first came into the site that when he bought it---he was not told of the debt. It was only after he came into mora chat and looked around he realized.
You know I am the skeptical one and have been. I was the first one to doubt Bryan and I doubted Chris tremendously from day one. I do not have the doubt anymore because I have tried to listen and watch what he is doing. Actions speak louder than words--and so far he has done what he has promised and communicated it all the way.
I am just shocked that you would trash Mora--our home. I guess that is what saddens me. I wish you had gone to Dee before you did this and asked where your posts went to.
As smart as you are--I am surprised that you feel Chris owes you Bryan's debt. Bryan is the one who abandoned us without even as much as an update on what is wrong with him--that shows how much he thought of the family. If he is sick--I am sorry--but it is a business and he should have had a back up plan set up.
When you come over here and bad mouth Mora--you aren't only hurting Chris--but you are hurting us--the ones who belong there and are trying to build up the site. I am sorry you have bad feelings about Mora--but I hope you can work through them and come back and join us. You were an asset to many of us over there.

But Kris, and Dee are not the owners of the site. They have been very busy and all of it unpaid as I understand it.
Chris by deciding he was going to catch up pay on a dollar for dollar approach and then by cleaning the slate and taking all money owed and holding it until you get payout, in my case $17+ dollars, I was going to need somewhere in excess of 1400 posts to catch up. THAT is months of work and then another two months to process.
I am not prepared to pound away for six months for $17 dollars to enrich him. He is holding our money hostage. It is extortion at best.
He said he bought the domain name. Then he said he asked for the site files and was given them.
A businessman would have done his homework to see what damage was done. He didn't.
Instead, he re-upped the site and went on as though nothing had happened.
By clearing the slate as he did, he is holding money that belongs to you to SEE IF YOU ARE SINCERE. Like he is doing you some great favour holding YOUR money until you work for it, all over again.
That's not a favour.
I am sorry if this has disturbed you or any of those I was well aquainted with there, but someone has to say no.

I am sorry that you will not be coming back to Mora--it really does sadden me as I looked at you as the Dad of the bunch of us misfits over there. Mora people are a great much of people to be with.

As far as Chris--so far he hasn't shown me anything to make me feel negative towards him. If anything--he has helped me out with some things. I love the family feeling that Mora has. And for the above poster who said that Mora seemed boring. I am sorry you didn't give it a chance either. You should have stuck around and got to know all of us. Mora is a wonderful site--not just a money making site--but also you will find some awesome people there.

Arbitrarily changing the rules for contractor payments is not how you conduct business.
