2012, what do you think?

I'm a bit long in the tooth to take much of this seriously.
As a child of the 60's I heard all the hippy predictions and those hopes died on the lawns of Kent State in the early 70's. So much for the dawn of Aquarius....
I used to get scared because we had religious relatives (Jehovah's Witnesses) who predicted several 'ends' of the world during my lifetime, and they didn't happen.
Maybe there will be an awakening, we can but hope.

its hard to say, i really dont think tht much will change other then every wiil be paid by plastic, war will be over. but another one might start. well i dont know if the world will end, if it did tht would suck. cuz all this time i could have been living it up.

from what i've read, most people don't believe the world will end in 2012, but it will be the end of an era or life cycle. many believe we will experience a greater level of consciousness, the world will become more enlightened. it's only 4 years from now. pretty exciting, isn't it?

I always have the curiosity about mayan calendar. why they ended it on the year 2012? what had happened or what would happen?

some people claimed about the end of the world, but is there something new with this earth, perhaps? because with the current situation towards this earth, the global warming, etc, maybe this earth era would just end in 2012 and there would be a new phase of earth after then that the mayan couldn't describe?

that sounds interesting but also freaky at the same time.

why is it people think 2012 is about a spirit awakening? I have visited many websites that speak about spiritual awaking and evolution but what I want to know why have you based your conclusion on such a scifi ending. personally I believe 2012 does not mean the end of the world physically but more a great change in how we view ourselves, our environment and our fellow man.

i think it is just a start of something that would change the world and the humanity...other says its the time the anti-Christ will rule the world and others say its the end of the world...but i think its better to be on guard and hope for the best and not the worst and wish everything would be fine for everybody...

The Mayan Prophecy is not heralding the end of the world, but the end of the world as we know it. IMO, that wouldn't be such a bad thing. It is supposed to usher in a new age of spiritual awakening across the globe, turning away from the materialistic and towards a new way of living and acting towards one another.
I, for one, hope it does come to pass. I am sick of the way the world is, atrocities everywhere, poverty, famine, oppressive governments, oh, the list goes on.
I would love to see a positive change in the world.

That year marks the end of a "great cycle" in the Mayan calendar and according to Mayan mythology, the ends of the great cycles are marked by cataclysmic events so that's the origin of all this stuff about the end of the world in 2012. Personally, I'll believe it when it happens.

The year 2012 has always meant something..definitly not the end of the world but that something big is going to happen..now you mention a great spiritual awakening that could well be it as there are many more people becoming more spiritualy aware being psychic and medium myself I have to admit I have never thought of it this way..am not sure about the mayan caalendar as havn't read about it though have been intrested in it and know that what htey have prophecied has come true..Blessed Be littleowl
