I am tired of seeing those "dancing inmates"

Yeah, I was amused when I watched those criminals dance the thriller and other hits from Michael Jackson, but these days I think it is long overplayed and it seems they are desperated to find new "gimmicks" for this enterprise.
It seemsevery little move they make they are touting it in the news papers like it was such a big deal. Of course, I appreciate what they are trying to do for these people.
But let us not forget these people are convicts some of these were put there because they hurt other people. They have raped, and killed and stolen.
And what is happening? It seems we are trying to make them into superstars and letting them earn money.
Why don't they give some of the proceeds to the victims of these criminals or the policemen who risked their lives to make us safe by putting these people in there?
I don't know it just seems unfair that it is the criminals who are getting our money, sympathy and attetion instead of their victims.
Does anyone else feel this way or am I alone?

It is a strange thing to do with a big crowd of people in prison, surely there are better things they could be doing? They could have them making products to be used by members of the public or something more useful. I just can't see what use making them do dance from Thriller was, it's not as if they can go on tour or anything.

thank goodness! I thought this was going to be another discussion with no replies! :)
Well, actually, they do have other activities besides "dancing". They have livelihood programs (you should see the water bottles that they shape to look like bonsais they're great)
I just feel that they're "overplaying" this thing. The politicians are riding on it for their selfish reasons and it's spoiling the prisoners.
Thanks for the response :)
