Siddhartha a book by Hermann Hesse, is a book that many people can relate to. The book refers to a young boy named Siddhartha who grows into a very wise and knowledgeable man. Through the story, the little boy succeeds in his learnings of life tremendously. He looks for someone who can teach him how to understand life. He finds many wise teachers, but none of which can fulfill his thirst for knowledge. Through his travels, he becomes a monk, a businessman, a ferryman, and a father. He arrives to many conclusions, such as that life must be experienced first hand and wisdom cannot be spoken but must be derived from experience. When he has realized, this he understands that everything is equally important and only people can teach themselves about life. This book is a great book to relate readers' personal lives. Hesse does an excellent job with explaining the life of Siddhartha, which makes it easy to understand what he is going through and what he is thinking. Every lesson that is learned by Siddhartha makes him stronger and more understanding of people. Issues are faced everyday by Siddhartha, showing how he struggles through the lessons he is being taught. These lessons give the reader a special outlook on the situation. This book stresses the importance of everything on earth, how nothing should be overlooked. The refreshing goodness of Siddhartha keeps readers locked into the story wanting to find out more about Siddhartha, but at the same time they want to acquire the knowledge that Siddhartha has been longing for. The ending of the book makes us reflect not only on what we have just read, but how we can apply the story to our lives and maybe help us in a way we thought a book never could.
