Candy Floss Clouds? |
|
I love looking up at clouds. Some people think I'm weird. I feel like a little kid sometimes when gazing up at the sky and seeing shapes form from the clouds. Last week I snapped some pics whilst stuck in traffic (my husband was driving) as I couldn't resist how pretty the clouds looked. I wanted to step out into the sky and walk on the clouds. Also they sometimes look like white candy floss and I imagined myself grabbing a huge chunk of candy floss cloud and stuffing it into my mouth LOL! Do you like to cloud watch? Do you like to take random photos of beautiful sights and scenery at any opportune time? Do you feel relaxed when looking at clouds or is it just me?

2. wolfie34 (10244) | 4 months ago | Someone else who enjoys this activity which we take so much for granted, many times I love laying in the garden and just gazing up at the clouds and so many times I see different animals out of the clouds, once I saw a dolphin and it was wonderful to see, trouble is it doesn't stay for long, as though it's a sign. I have seen a dragon in the past too, one of those big Chinese dragons. It's fascinating and relaxing too, you just lie there and watch the clouds, it's not just you my friend. I usually like to take pictures of sunsets. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to sit on one of those candy flossed clouds of cotton wool and look down at the world below, now that would be amazing!

anonymili (2497) | 4 months ago | Thanks for your response Wolfie hun. Yes, I also have seen lots of different animals in the clouds and often wished I had my camera to snap a quick photo. People look at you funny when you say excitedly "Hey, guess what? I just saw a unicorn in the clouds!" You can just imagine them thinking "She's finally lost the plot for real now!" hehe Ah to be able to sit on a candy floss cloud and look down at the world (hey maybe even to be able to eat the candy floss cloud at the same time - but yeah, imagine me, I'd eat the whole cloud and fall down to earth with a thud HAHA)! We can but dream eh:) x

| 3. sgathach (9) | 4 months ago | I love clouds, especially cumulous congestus, that's the big big fluffy ones that look like cotton wool, I was taking pictures of the clouds two days ago when we had a BBQ at a wee Loch near Nairn. It was beautiful, the clouds look different when the colour of the skye changes as well, I especially like clouds when the skye is a really bright blue.

anonymili (2497) | 4 months ago | Thanks for responding Ellie hun. Wow looking up at clouds from Glastonbury sounds fantastic, not an experience I've ever had (Glastonbury that is). Sometimes when I look up at the clouds they seem to be moving too fast for me to see them properly and I imagine that the earth is moving too quickly and maybe we'll get done for speeding haha! x

6. p1kef1sh (2491) | 4 months ago | I love watching the clouds. When I was little I used to catch a lot of the various childhood diseases that we are supposed to get. Measles, mumps etc. It's just that I seemed to catch them all at once. So one year, I spent almost an entire Summer in bed. I used to lie there and see faces in the clouds. All sorts, I even thought that I saw Jesus once. My poor mother thought that maybe I was ready for the undertaker! Nowadays I love to watch them scud across the low hills that surround us here. Our bedroom looks down onto Salisbury Cathedral, in the early mornings low cloud (more often mist though) often hangs around the middle of the spire and makes it look like it is a rocket heading for the stars. "Far too much imagination that boy".

ruby222 (1667) | 4 months ago | Wonders if Piky was taking the right medication at the time..... But i know exactly what you mean...if you look deeply enough you can often pick out shapes and faces in the sky or another sometihng or other...especially after a couple of tots of sommeting!!..i jest.... Salisbury is a pleasant place..i used to visit to shop there sometimes...the cathedral is wonderful!!!...salisbury plains..remote and lovley. I wasnt a `catcher` of childhood diseases as such...but i was liad up for a good while after running to tell my parents that i had seen a grass snake...and tripping over a man hole....which ended up with me having a broken ankle... Well Piky..i was gutted...no even more than gutted...shall we say distraught!!!because i was one of those very sad children who loved school....and i had to have time off!!!!!....cyrius,cumulus,stratus>..cloud names??????

p1kef1sh (2491) | 4 months ago | I much preferred illness to school, except during the holidays, which is when I seemed to get ill! poor you and that ankle. Ankles are one of my taboo areas along with knees and elbows. Can't stand to have them touched and the mere thought of them gives me the collywobbles. I had an aunt that loved the weather, she taught us the various cloud formations, but I confess that whilst I recognize the names, I am not 100% certain which name goes with which formation. You are Wiltshire aren't you? I am not a big fan of the Plain, but there are some very remote spots out there. But I adore this city. Years ago, when my wife worked in London and I would pick her up from the 7.20 train, I would skip into the Cathedral to listen to the Choir practice. I am not religious at all, but I love church music. A blissful way to spend and hour or so.

7. gemini_rose (6194) | 4 months ago | No it is definately not just you! I also do this with the clouds and I am always seeing shapes and things in the sky. I am also pleased to note that my youngest son also has the ability to see shapes in the clouds and we often spend time looking at the sky and seeing dragons and rats and elephants and all manner of strange things!

8. Hatley (9954) | 4 months ago | Ilove to cloud watch and try to figure out what the various shapes of clouds resemble. It is really relaxing to watch the clouds and just commune with nature. I have wished so oftentht I had a camera with me when I see certain gorgeous cloud formations specially at sun rise and sun set here in So.Ca

anonymili (2497) | 4 months ago | Thanks for your response. Yes I too often regret not having a camera with me when I spot a wonderful bunch of clouds. Sunrise and sunsets are especially beautiful aren't they? Where is So.Ca?

9. derek_a (2574) | 4 months ago | I think we all need to just stop and look at the things that are around us as it stills the mind. I often just look at clouds or even if the sky is cloudless, I feel myself look deep into the blue. It is a form of meditation and is an effective way of reducing stress. Looking into water, with no particular thoughts, is another valuable exercise. As a therapist, I often advise many of my stressed out clients to take some time out just to be with themselves and what is around them.:-)

anonymili (2497) | 4 months ago | Hi Derek hun, thanks for your response. I hope you're well? I think I should look at clouds and blue sky and water more often then as I get stressed very easily - but also I forget it pretty quickly too (see even in stress, I'm very fickle haha)! x

anonymili (2497) | 4 months ago | Hi Subha, thanks for replying sweetie. Awh so sad that you feel confined in your office. I have a huge window next to my desk so I can cloud gaze at any time I wish (not that I have much time to do that at work) but funnily enough my boss is very chilled out so doesn't mind if we take time out to relax in this way!
