This is still confidential so I can't give many details yet. My brother is instigating one of the biggest work abuse cases in our States history. He has the backing of an expert psychologist, his Doctor, the General Manager, other officers & the Lawyers. The case is regarding bulying & victimisation in the workplace, specifically the Public Service. I am not exagerating. He is going to sue the Government Minister for a particular Department, the Executive in the Department & the Union. In less than two months this will be all over the media. It's about time, the endemic bullying in certain Government Public Service Departments is brought to a standstill. Have you ever been involved in sueing a major Government organisation, or know someone closely who has?

No I haven't but I do wish your brother the very best of luck. I have a feeling this will become quite a lenthy task and could develop into a Class Action Suit.

That is a possibility. Today, My brothers immediate boss, the General Manager, did not turn up at work. My brother rang his wife, & she said she is trying to get him to the Doctor straight away. Not good..

I've never sued a government agency, and honestly, I don't know if I would try if I were wronged in any way, because I don't know if I could even afford a good lawyer or that I would win the case. In truth, I wish I could be strong enough to stand up for myself, or someone else. My brother in law had a situation at work that I thought was at least harassment and discrimination. When I found out what they were trying to do to him, I told him he should consult a lawyer and see if he had a case. He didn't want any trouble, so didn't pursue it, and the person who was being so abusive was moved to a different department.

At least your brothers situation was partly resolved by moving this abuser to a different department. It takes a very strong person to oppose the government & a union.
