Remember in the movie "Running Man" with Arnold Schwartzeneger, how excited we were when we saw voice command tv and lighting, then later video phones in "Total Recall" and finally large screen LCD or plasma screen telephone / internet / cable tv in the "Demolition Man"

Thanks to the ingenuity of movie editing we were able to see the ideas so many had written and dreamed of. Who would have thought we would actually see our world evolving in just this way? What was only fashionable ideas in science fiction has actually become reality as many of you can attest to as you sit here reading while talking on your digital phone or voice on your pc and watch a movie.

Some I'm sure are like me, looking like the desk of the Doc in the movie "CopyCat" with several monitors so you can multitask, while I'm sure there are some with large screen digital monitors partitioned off in to the various windows. Either way, we are partaking of what was once make believe.

Now along comes High Definition TV and much like when everyone had to upgrade from black and white televisions to color, in a few years we will all have to be ready for the changeover, except this time, it is a more extreme change as it also means the end of broadcast tv as everyone goes to cable.

Remember the old days when only the wealthy were able to afford cable tv? On the few occasions I saw it back then, I was most impressed with the no commercials aspect and the ability to see movies without going to the show. So much for that, now we not only have commercials on cable tv but we have pop ups and other ads on our internet. In fact it has gone so far that late night has been relegated to infomercials and cable has become what we were trying to escape when we got it!

A cable company advertised cable/internet/phone and called it televisaphonernetting. So now we are all televisaphonernetting and not only are we embracing the technologies but we like em! We get almost everything we want, when we want it. You can already order movies on line but I'm sure it won't be too long before you can actually program a single channel with just exactly the shows you want, when you want instead of waiting for the broadcast company to decide the schedule. In fact it is something they are going to have to do to keep us happy.

Why do they want us happy? Haven't you realized? Government and being a leader of the people is all about popularity. The most popular get the votes and make the people happy, just like Sonny Bono or Arnold Schwartzenegger or how about Jessie Ventura. Doesn't it strike anyone else that two of the leading actors in "The Running Man" went on to become governors and one of them isn't even an American citizen? Or how about the reference in "Demolition Man" to Schwarzenegger becoming the president of the United States?

Televisaphonernetting: The subjugation of the people by entertainment. Does this reek of Lenin's religion being the opiate of the masses? LOL!!!! Sometimes they put it right in front of our faces and we don't see it!

Speaking of entertainment, I was watching the history channel on my digital LCD flatscreen monitor and saw a program about ancient Rome and how the emporers kept the people happy by always upgrading the entertainment to keep their popularity high! One Emporer even went so far as to re-create an epic sea battle on a lake!

Yes I know this reeks of conspiracy theory but somewhere back in the sands of time, a Hollywood person studied ancient Rome and figured out he could make a fortune and control people with entertainment! You think I'm kidding? Then why is every sports arena in the world wired into your cable box directly? If Nero had only had the colliseum wired, huh!

Are we just sheeple like the tv said? I will guage my opinion on the sheeple issue on the amount of comments I receive.

I don't really think of myself as a sheeple. I don't believe most of what I see on TV or on the net without checking it out.

I was surprised when Arnold got elected. Now look at the mess Califonia is in. It would be scary if he got elected president, but it seems to be the fashion nowadays.....having a president that is not a citizen.

Televisaphonernetting DOES seem to keep most entertained.
