I haven't had it for so long I barely remember it, but I am looking for a nice easy set of instructions on how to make a bread pudding.
Can someone help me with this?
I got lots of help on how to make gravy. I cook lots and only recently have I been able to make gravy that wasn't disgusting slop.
So, now I'm moving on to bread pudding. I don't expect it to be hard. But technique is everything right?

Bread and butter pudding is really easy to make and really nice, you need bread, sultanas, milk, cream , eggs and sugar, then all you do is butter a dish cut the bread into triangles and lay them in the dish then sprinkle with sugar and sultanas, repeat that until it is all gone, whisk the eggs add the milk and cream and then add the custard mix to the bread, leave to stand for 30 minutes then pop it in the oven for 30-40 minutes, yum.

Or an even easier recipe is to get some hot cross buns slice them put them in a dish pour ready to serve custard over them and pop in the oven that is really nice.

Try this, I did a search on allrecipes.com and found a bunch...

INGREDIENTS
10 slices white bread, cut into cubes
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins
6 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups scalded milk
1 pinch ground nutmeg



DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly butter one 2 quart baking dish.
Combine bread cubes, butter, cinnamon and raisins; mix well and place in baking dish.
Beat together the eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt. Add milk, mix well and pour over bread cubes.
Sprinkle with nutmeg and bake for 25 minutes.

When I make bread pudding I usually use as many left over sweet rolls as I can. If I don't have sweet rolls I use what ever bread that I have. Break the bread up and in a pot heat some milk until hot but not boiling. If the milk is hot the bread soaks it up faster. Add sugar and cinnamon or nut meg and pour over the bread. mix and add eggs and raisins if you like. Bake it in a 350 degree oven about 45 min to an hour. When a tooth pick or knife is inserted it comes out clean.

BCMike go to www cooks.com and you will find oodles of bread pudding recipes and they will be good ones. I have used cooks for ages and can always find just what I am looking for. My mom used to make the best bread pudding but I havent the foggiest notion of how she made it.It had cinnamon and raisins in it and was so good.about gravy good for you mine still turns out like slop so I need some good recipes. lol
