kids playing with fire |
|
I am so not happy right now, I was talking to my husband and petting my cat and looking out my window when I saw my little neighbor boy have a toy of some kind on fire, and he picked up and then dropped it, then he threw it on the grass, my husband who would be faster on his feet ran down to find out what was going on, as soon as he saw me he stepped on it to put it out, someone next door caught him, but I'm so not happy with him, he could have caused a lot of damage -- I am so afraid he will try to blame it on my kids or me, because I am not so not liked around here, but my kids, all of them were inside at the time.... If you saw a neighbor child playing with fire would you forbid your kids to play with them? Would you confront the mother? Would you not say anything? Mooch

2. gemini_rose (7397) | 6 months ago | I think I would be wary of my children playing with kids who messed with fire yes, I would only have a word with the mother if I thought it would do any good to be honest. If the mother is the sort, like me, who is not instantly on the defensive about people having words about the kids then yes. But if the mother was the sort who will not have it that her angel has misbehaved then no. Oh and I am not liked much where I live either, never have been!!!

Because you're right he could have caused alot of damage. If you say nothing and something happened to this child later resulting from playing with fire you would feel bad. Maybe it will stop this child from causing harm to himself and others.

5. webeishere (9520) | 6 months ago | YIKES! It is never fun seeing a child with any type of flamable toy or matches lighters etc. Too many house fires have been started by kids curiosity of lighters etc. I don't think I'd forbid my kids to play with them. But I would have a nice talk with the parents about safety with matches etc and kids. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

6. OreoCookie3 (13344) | 6 months ago | I think something needs to be said, for real! What if that kids tries to blame it on you or your kids. Maybe even an incident report could be filled out by the police so that there is a record of the incident.

8. Modestah (7413) | 6 months ago | in this situation I would let the parent/s know what had occurred, the child might be interested in fire right now and the potential is there to burn down his home or someone else's giving the carelessness he obviously exhibited in playing with it.

9. carmelanirel (4723) | 6 months ago | I would speak to the Mother out of concern that this child has no respect for fire and could have hurt either himself or someone else or even burn down a house..
