Do you own a pool, or is there one at the property you live? Is it an inground pool, or above ground? or is it a wading pool hot days quickly approach. I would love to have a pool. Is the upkeep difficult?

Nope! Owning a pool is not something that is very common over here in the UK. For one thing our weather isn't exactly brilliant, so outdoor pools are very rare because there's not many months in the year you'd get to enjoy it! It's only really wealthy people with big houses who have indoor pools becuase they need to be heated and the heating alone costs an absolute fortune! It's becomming unaffordable for the everyday person to heat and power their own homes these days, let alone try to heat a swimming pool too. Never mind, we do have public swimming baths (all indoor) and to be honest we're not likely to have hot days approach us in the UK any time soon!

I would love to have a pool in our backyard but we don't own our house. I hear they are a pain to take care of but I have never had the experience. We do have one down the street from us. It's 75 cents for my daughter and I to go and so worth it! It opened two weeks ago and we haven't had a chance to go yet. It's going to be high 90's and sunny all next week so I have cleared a few days for us to go. Other than the beach, the pool is the second best place to spend a hot summer day.

We don't have a pool here. We did, well my mom did but I was living in Wa. state at the time. She took it down and gave it to one of my brothers the year before I move back...'sigh' I keep telling her we should get a small above ground one like she used to have but she isn't interested and with my back the way it is these days I couldn't possibly take care of it myself. My brother only lives a few miles away and he has a nice pool. The problem with that is him and his wife both work days and he goes to bed around 7:30pm because he gets up at 2:30am to go to work. So we don't swim there much, I feel funny being there when they aren't at home. We do go to the beach quite a bit in the summer. The beach we go to is free for handicapped parking so we really make out on the deal, the regular cost is 10.00 for parking. Brightest Blessings, Mari

We live in a trailer park. We are not allowed to have pools or such. We do have a decent sized pond on the property. I have never swam in it. My boyfriend and our kids has though. They said the water is nice when it is really hot outside. The trailer park tenants do the upkeep on the pond. We do the litter patrol and such. It is very nice.

My sister just sold her house and they had a pool and are moving to a house without one...she says that they are alot of work...but the pleasure outweights the work that is involved!

I have an above ground pool in my yard. I used to have a inground pool years ago.I have a very bad back, the water is the only way I can get any exercise. I spend alot of time in the pool.It is therapy for me, it really makes me feel good.

i have an above ground. it's really not too difficult, only you have to keep on top of things falling in it (bugs, leaves)which they will do while in use.some come with filter pumps, but i'd still get a catch net. depending on your water you have to mix the chemicals to put in it.i have to put a lot in mine, but that's because of the water ph. with above ground,i'd recommend sand underneath and keep a eye out for plants that may try to grow through the bottom.

My daughter bought a house with an above ground pool, and after using it for two summers, she decided to remove it. She had to spend so much money for chemicals to maintain the water, and had to spend much time cleaning it every day. She had one of those automatic cleaners, but it didn't get everything. The pump also broke, and she had to spend 400 dollars to replace it. She said that if we lived in an area where the pool could be used for more than a couple of months, she might have kept it, but for how much use it got, it just wasn't worth it.

We don't have our own pool, but our apartment complex includes one. My son is in it almost every single day. He is turning as brown as the desert we live in. LOL.
