Elections in Italy  email this discussion to a friend?

April 13th is another day of elections in Italy.
Italy has had more number of governments formed than as many years since 2nd World War.
Italy is one of the most Industrialised countries and is a member of the prestigious G8 group.
But its economy has not made any significant growth in the last decade.
The two main contenders for the prime minister post are:
1...Silvio Berlusconi, the older man, a rich business magnate.
2...Walter Veltroni, the younger man, from the left of politics.
A politically strong Italy is good for the world and economy.
The Communist theory of Karl Marx has failed miserably and Russia and China have adopted Open Market economy and have grown out of the measly poverty.
It is feasible for these two men to get together, after the elections, and work to formulate a new political system for Italy to have a strong government?
I think if these two men have the 'good' of Italy, in mind, than the 'best' for themselves, they will sit and work together and NOT against each other.
