well we have been living in a rented house for years now.. it gives us less worries on maintenance since we dont own the house and the land lord takes care of everything, not us.

we do of course make sure that everything is well since this has become our home for years now.

our neighbors are great, and is friends with them.:)

Well, I have been and still living in a rented house as of now. When I was a kid, we have our own house. it feels great. But when i get married, we decided to move out and rent a house. Life is tough. Because we need to manage and budget everything. We have to provide our own sets of things. WE need to face the monthly rental fees. If possible it is better to look for a rent-to-own taht you can afford. After several years of paying, at least you can call it your own. Our landlord is good. I cant say anything against her. There are times that we got late paying the rent and a good conversation is enough. WE just have to say the real reason and promise when to give the payment and all is set.
But I think living in your own house is the best. You can reconstruct the house and beautify it. Unlike when you are renting, you have to ask the permission of the landlord and also you know in time you also have to leave the house. So reconstruction is not a good idea.

I own my house now but I used to live in rented houses and apartments
the ups of renting are that you dont have to worry about maintenacne but that can also be a downside as well because not all landlords take care of their property like they should
Another downside is that you usually cant decorate the way you want to like you could if you owned
