We're An American Band

I was 13 when they played Shea Stadium and just beginning my affair with rock. I must confess that I don't recall them ever making it over the pond and were not on my radar therefore. However, I've just spent 10 minutes watching them on Youtube and looking at Mark Farner's website and can see the attraction. He appears to be a guy that ought to be better known than he is. I might even go and find an LP or two. Thanks for introducing me. Got yourself a response too. Hope it kicks off. I'm going to send Nova over. She's probably rocked with them. LOL.

Lol, no, I haven't rocked with Grand Funk, but I can't say that I'd mind. But I've been known to rock out with them, and others of their genre, that's for sure. Myklj, you're a die-hard hard rocker, darlin, and good for you. Hey myklj, do you remember Head East? When I worked for Contemporary, we managed them and I just loved them. Never Been Any Reason, remember that? I love it, but my hubby just laughs every time he hears it because he associates it with every stripper he's ever known over on the East side - he says they ALL used it to dance to. What do I know? I've never gone to strip clubs. Not that I wouldn't, but I haven't. He used to go all the time before we met. Anyway, back to the rock, I liked and still like Grand Funk Railroad. Rock on, mykl, rock on. Why did this sit empty for so long? What's wrong with these people?

Finally got to see them about 10 years ago in D.C. The early albums are great. I finally got a used copy of 'Survival'--it's a very underrated albums, and has great covers of 'Feelin' Allright' and 'Gimme Shelter.' And I still love 'Paraniod.'
