GLOBAL WARMING, anyone doing something about it? |
|
Hi, as you guys all know GLOBAL WARMING is true. But what are you doing to reduce it? I (for example) don't drive so much. If something isn't really that far i take my bike. It's healty, cheap and it helps. I do use as less energy as i can. Always putting the lights out can help. ... but what are you guys doing against GLOBAL WARMING?

1. roberten (735) | 5 months ago | I'm trying. I drive as little as possible; recycle to reduce my individual footprint; plan on improvements to my home to make it more energy efficient. By the way, those new light bulbs are amazing, they save me a lot each month on my utiltiy bill. If everyone would make an effort, no matter how small, it would make a tremedous impact on global warming. Thanks for keeping the awareness up.

2. maxsee212 (462) | 5 months ago | i walk to work every single day. i don't drive because i don't have a car yet. i buy solar companies stocks, this encourages the companies to make more energy efficient solar panels. i am also pro natural gas to replace gasoline because it is much cleaner than any other fossil fuels out there and we got plenty of it. why don't people start realizing to use natural gas, it is cheaper and way environmental friendly. i think that when it comes to electricity, electricity should come from alternative energy solutions like geothermal, solar and wind power. there's still a lot of things we could do to supply the demand of energy. we should create a fission reactor that could produce tremendous amount of energy for all our needs.

| 3. newsniche (11) | 5 months ago | The biggest and cheapest thing you can do is switch to energy saving lightbulbs. This is what I have done and it saves about 70% of lighting costs. The bulbs also last ages.

6. ptrikha1 (4198) | 4 months ago | While I do not like to brag about myself;I can say that I am trying to contribute to reducing Global Warming;in part . I take the following steps: 1)Switch off TV,Airconditioner,Computer and extra lights whenever not required . 2)Walk to Shops or Markets which are within 1 to 2 KM. radius . 3)Switch off Car ignition at Traffic Red Lights;if the signal is for more than 1 minute . 4)Try to drive the car or even my 2-wheeler within 40 to 60 Kmph speed limit . and avoid excessive braking .
