I'm thinking of starting my own webcomic |
|
I don't think it can be that hard to start a webcomic. I don't think it is completely neccesary to have a joke in every comic (even though they will be frequent) as long as I keep a good story going. My story will probably be the standard atypical heroes go on quests in persuit of their ultimate goal.
Here come my questions:
What sort of software do you think I should use to make the comics? I'm thinking of going for something easy like Paint since I have the artistic skill of a small rock. The pictures don't have to be good, the bad drawing can be part of the joke.
Where would you suggest hosting it? I would like to use something that would let me add advertising to make a bit of income if I manage to gain popularity.
Thanks for any contribution

Pirate_Arg (262) | 2 years ago | Don't hold your breath while waiting for me to get going (unless you can hold your breath for a very very long time:P), its mostly just an idea I have been mulling over recently. I won't use paper because my drawing on paper is even worse. At least on a program I can throw some geometric shapes into the fray. It also means that I can build up a sprite set and not need to redraw people each time I want to use them (because if that happens they will look different each time, same as on paper). Thanks for the hosting site, I'm going to join it now (enjoy your referral) and if I ever get going that is where they will be.
Enjoy your day.

Drawing manually will get you to redraw same character for so many times - that's what I haven't think of before.
I never draw 2 similar drawing. Everytime it looks different. Using software, you only draw it once and the rest, you only edit a bit. You have looked your future very far.
But it is interesting, that I hate drawing but I like to see drawings.
I don't wanna hold my breath to wait for your comics or I never seen it...lol... But I'll bet you, I'll be the one to read your comics, unless you didn't tell me it was already uploaded.
Anyway, thanks for the best response. And please do tell me when your comics is uploaded.
Thanks in advance.

Pirate_Arg (262) | 2 years ago | Another thing that I have thought of is drawing very rough versions and then find some other friend to draw the actual thing for me. I'm sure someone I know will be willing to draw for me, even if they draw the sprite set and then I just use it in the comic.

Good luck!

Pirate_Arg (262) | 2 years ago | Unfortunately I'm a terrible procrastinator so I'll be able to sit around thinking and talking about something all day without ever getting around to doing it. And when I get around to doing something, I often forget half of the things I had thought about before. So I waste a lot of time...
