Is times environmental issue a disgrace and disrespectful  

Wow! I cancelled my subscription many years ago...there are other ways to express environmental concerns without diminishing that photo, and editorial oopsy won't do it this time...ugh, they should be ashamed.

I think that global warming is crap.... go back to school and take history this has happened in the past...i remember 10 years ago hearing about the ozone layer thining out OMG WE'RE STILL HERE lmao everyone has gone too far with all this crap, however i do believe there is too much garbage around the world, what happened to people having a compost? what did people use in the old days before there was plastic garbage bags.... or a garbage dump ? and pictures being modified.... we all modify pictures whether they are ours or not.... to have a picture like this on a famous magazine, they obviously had permission to modify it because if they did not they would have a huge law suit on their hands before it even hit the stands.

They probably shouldnt have messed with a memorable picture like that but to say whoever did this is going to hell a little extreme id say.

That is just ourageous and belittling to the men who were at IwoJima. times should have known better than that and I hope people raise holy hell over this. globalwarming has nothing to do with world war two whatsoever.what ever possessed times to use that photo. The armed forces are not going to like that either and why should they? that is so belittling to those courageous young men.

Ok, so it was an interesting concept, and really an interesting way to grab people's attention and try to get them to realize that global warming is a real issue that we need to work on and try to solve, but it really was in poor taste. They could have done much better.

Yah, they should come up with their own idea. They should have known some people would be offended or feel aggrieved.

This is a disgrace.. I have a friend who is an Iwo Jima survivor and he still remembers the hell that he went through fighting that battle.. He still has nightmares about the young soldiers that he had to kill, (it was kill or be killed).. He tells of the day the water ran red from the blood of the dead soldiers.. He is in his 80"s and his health is not good now but his mind is and he remembers the battles very well.. We need to stand behind our soldiers and the American traditions.. A lot of the young boys would just have soon stayed home and not had to fight this horrible war, but most had to choice, quite a few were drafted and didn't have a chance.. Many were killed for the freedoms of our country and it needs to stay in history as it happened.. You can't sugar coat the truth and it shouldn't be changed..

Its ridiculous and disgraceful. However, publications can release the stories they want and they can use the images they wish (well, minus fake ones...). However, I found it distasteful.

Oh dear there are times when people are just so insensitive. I bet they didn't get the copyright.

You know the one of Che Guervara that is printed on all the t-shirts, postcards, posters? Well, that wasn't copyrighted either and that is one of the most famous pictures in the world. Well it ended up that my cousin who is a lawyer had he guy who took original photograph as a client and he won!

I would have thought that Times being the magazine that they are would have checked about copyrights and perhaps used such a controversial picture in order to boost sales! It wouldn't surprise me, they are not the first to do something like that for money and I'm sure they won't be the last.

Time buys rights, so I don't see that as a problem for the photo, now for the photo, I can't say I would have to know the story behind it, what was their rational for doing this what is the story behind it.

And it really has nothing to do with God, it is not a mortal sin.
