Of course the obvious answer is no. I have been depressed for quite some time, now I have been going back to normal. I am aware that this problem is widespread all over. Though I really wanted to help and seek the information available to help those in trouble, now I am beginning to think that being depressed is a real condition and can be solved uniquely by the person suffering it (with the help of others for support, explanations, or facts). Though psychologist and/or expert physicians on brains have their explanation on the workings of the brain and chemicals on it on state of depression, the reason why it is activated or can be stopped or be put to normal functioning is not known or not clear to the patient. And depression to me feels like a disease, it is annoying just to be bothered by it. Now I appreciate clear thinking and more carefree life.

People come from different background and since people are unique individuals, they can't be cured with one single treatment that worked for another person, though same people may agree on one subject if not in depressed state. I have been a little fascinated with my general psychology book, because I can get facts I can believe, or ponder on now that I can think fairly and average. And those science are studied by many people so I can learn to trust knowledge or people endeavors. because I believe they are sane, though they may be limited or not permanent.

No body, per se, chooses depression as a 'mood' to be in.Nobody consciously can do it unless they are prone to it. When in depression, one closes the doors to the outside world. The depressed person always thinks about himself. He is highly self-conscious and never takes a realistic view of circumstances. sadI read in a newspaper recently that when a person is in depression, the energies that are conserved due to brain's lesser activities, some sudden insights on things are possible to the sufferer. They can do good writing then and can indulge in some artistic pursuit. happyRecently one of our co-myLot too said in one of the responses that the best mood for writing for her comes when slightly depressed. lol

I'd never choose to be depressed again. It's even something that I'd have never wish on my worst enemy. Notice the past tense? I am soo very annoyed, think I shall wallow in spite for a short while before I allow niceness to kick back in!
