rotting .......fruit and vegetables.   

If my appetite's been good, usually they don't rot because I eat everything up really fast.

But, mostly, I just cut off the rotting area and eat around it. But, I did throw a potato away because there was a big, gross, rotting hole in the middle of it. That's pretty rare, but you have to be careful with potatoes sometimes.

In our area, the weather got very warm for a few days and I've been noticing a lot of my fruits and vegetables had a lot of rotting holes in them. Usually, the store I buy them from is pretty good at having fresh produce. So, it must have been the weather.

If my man finds them he will eat them. If I spot them first they get thrown out. i do not like to waste food, but i will not eat rotten food either.

it depends number one with my daughter around there is usally no food left fruit ,veggies or anything else but if I do have something that has a spot on it if its not to bad I cut it off an eat it

If its just a small spot I will usually cut it out. Its rare for us to have anything that starts to rot with three kids running around.

It depends on the rot. It its too gross then I throw them out. In case of fruits like banana a small mark is alright.
I don't like eating rotten fruits or veggies. I once ate a rotten apple and got stomach ache. I don't think you'll catch serious disease or anything by eating rotten fruits. You will suffer from stomach ache or the system will make you vomit.

We try to compost our old produce! We can put it in the can for collection or make our own soil! Makes great soil, especially coffee grounds!

With the cost of foods being so high lately we cut back the bad and eat the good. I then will be using the bad parts in my compost bin I am starting this year for my garden and flower beds etc.

well we dont buy too much so I dont have to throw fruit away. Where my husband works there is a fruit market 50m from his work place so he goes there during lunch and gets what we need. He does that at least 2 times a week. But yes somethimes we do have some that is starting to get bad somethimes we eat it if its still ok or I just make a drink if I know we are not going to eat them. I have one of those juicers and I put everything in.

Well, I will try to salvage whatever it is edible. It is too wasteful to throw it away. Certainly, I will cut away the rotten part and eat or cook the remaining part.

I will cut the spot out, if it is not too bad. Sometimes I don't find soon enough and then just throw it out. I can't wait to start getting vegetables from a garden.
