If You Were Filthy Rich ... | | | | Hey troops, what if you were filthy rich? I know my lifestyle would change, but would I give up my current friends for a bunch of social snobs? Nah ... not me. I'm too ordinary. I don't fit in with the "social elite" and I don't think I'd want to. One thing that would change is my residence. There's a home listed for $5,900,000.00 that I absolutely would die for. It's an architectural angular/glass home, three stories with an elevator, ultra, ultra modern, granite countertops, and the whole nine yards. It's just my cup of tea -- especially all the glass, and overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Sure, I'd change my car from a Buick Century to something more befitting a rich snot, but even though I live on the Gulf of Mexico, I wouldn't get a boat, or yacht ... or ocean liner. How 'bout you, dudes and dudettes? How dramatically would YOUR lifestyle change if you had multiple millions of dollars? Let's just use $20,000,000.00 for argument's sake (or Pete's sake, or anyone else's sake). Memo to self: And who’s gonna wash all those windows, RJ? Good grief, I dunno. Maybe I can hire a scammer to make some HONEST bucks. © 2008 RJScott | | Gold, Pure Gold! | | I don't think I'd change much. I would certainly share money with my family, because I we've been struggling for a while. I'd also donate a ton to wildlife and environmental conservation efforts, because I really care about saving the earth. What ever I had left I'd use to make my life more comfortable. :] | | | | | | | rjscott (3069)

| | Good reply, Megumiart, thanks. Of course from my $20,000,000.00 the first $2,000,000.00 would go to my pet charity, St. Judes Childrens Hospital. Then, just for the devil of it, I think I'd give 10 lucky lotters the opportunity to "win" $100,000.00 each (taxes to be paid by them) by telling me why they think I should choose them. That would be fun! | | | | | | | Buick eAssist Technology See Videos, Features & More on Buick's 2012 eAssist Model Lineup. www.Buick.com/eAssist | add comment | | | |

| | Oooh, thinking about being stinking filthy rich... now there's a thought I can take a moment on. Hmmm... lifestyle would certainly change for me, too, yes. When it comes to friends, though, I'm sure I'd keep the same and nothing would change there. I've been around "the elite" enough to know that I wouldn't like hobnobbing with them on a regular basis. I was going to mention something about cleaning all those windows in your glass house like you said (be sure not to throw stones in there!) but if you could buy that house, you'd have "people" to clean the windows, eh? Twenty million. I'd have a house in my three favorite vacation spots on the east coast first of all. Pay off all bills for me, my sibs, and my parents... and live VERY comfortably on the interest forever while becoming very popular with my favorite charities. We now have to return me to... reality. Darn, that didn't last nearly long enough! | | | | | | | rjscott (3069)

| | Nice dreaming, Katie. Wouldn't it be great if that dream came true though? As to my walls of windows, I'd put the scammers from Nigeria and other places to work, at half of minimum wage and FINE them if they left streaks. | | | | | | | | | Buick Make Buick Shopping Easier. | | After the gov't got....how much of that...and then tithing, I would buy land. We are country folk. I would buy a big old ranch, somewhere where the land is cheap and it's secluded. Then I would offer a plot of land, with deed, to each member of my family. If they didn't want to move then I would offer to pay for their homes so that no one could ever take it away from them. I would get a trusted person to invest for me. I would try to make the land as self sufficient as possible, so that we were not reliant on others to support us. Friends would also be welcome, if they showed interest. I would continue to shop at garage sales, boy wouldn't that be fun, antique shops and discount stores. I would get a really fuel efficient vehicle, or purchase my own bio-diesel system. My dream house is country, cottage, rustic. Light walls with big beams in the ceiling and vines growing on the outside. An old tractor as yard art, english garden, and waterfalls. Ha, how's that for eclectic? Gee maybe I should stop there, or I could go on and on. | | | | | | | rjscott (3069)

| | Irish, maybe I could be that trusted person to invest for you. My fee is 89% of the $20,000,000.00. I could use my fee to buy back some respect on myLot, eh? :D | | | | | | | Top 5 Crossovers Cars Review Crossovers Find New Models MPG & Options Here http://www.libertybayauto.com | add comment | | | |

| | Money is nice to have but I would be happy in a shack by the within a nice quiet forest with candle light and my papers and pens for my writing company...If that kind of money come into my hands I don't think I would buy a huge house to have to clean up everyday or a fancy car just to fill up on gas.my little house and gas loving car are already to much to keep up with.(lol)My honest answer is this:I would travle and see the world.Going from one place to the other.Of course still writing about every face and each place.I would spoil my kids on the best education and maybe one gold barbie doll or toy car just for good measure.I would want to take my kids to Africa to see those kids that have less then what we do.I want to teach my kids love for each person. To repsect the difference we all have as people and fellow human beings.I would donate some of the money to charity. After every thing said and done I know I would take care of my sister and father with a nice new house while I lived in my shack after the world travle writing my books..lol. | | | | | | | rjscott (3069)

| | Nice goals, Breath -- seems you'd find a way to be happy no matter where you were -- as long as you had the means to write. Very admirable goals! | | | | | | | New Buick LaCrosse Find Buick LaCrosse Dealers and Get a Local Quote Today! Buick.Auto-Price-Finder.com | add comment | | | |

| | it is hard to say. I think it would be different if you were born into being filthy rich or if you worked hard to become filthy rich after having been a pauper and still different if you became filthy rich by way of a prize winning. if you are moving to an elaborate executive home that cost millions - then you will be hobnobbing with other filthy rich people just by the neighborhood you place yourself in - and the places you will begin to enjoy - you will become friends with those you associate with, I would think. I have acquaintances that are multi millionaires but to see them and talk with them you might think they lived the middle class life, they are so down to earth and friendly - they do not put on aires at all. | | | | | | | rjscott (3069)

| | I cannot imagine myself "hobnobbing" with other filthy rich people, Modestah. I'm too "me" a person. Sure, I like nice things, and I'd like some of the finer things in life, but I also believe that I'm too set in my ways to change. I couldn't become an "opera snob," or suddenly "enjoy" things that never mattered to me before. I'd still enjoy my daily bike rides with each new ride a new adventure in nature. I too, know several multimillionaires ... and while I am a bit envious of their OVERALL lifestyle, I know that I'm too "me" to become one of them. | | I don't want to be filthy rich. I want enough money to live comfortably for the rest of my life, to own my own house and a new car and send my kids to college and not have any financial worries. But all that spare cash If it is of no use to me and is just sitting in a bank somewhere with my name on it then I would give it away. To someone who needs the money. How I wish that was the case. | | | | | | | | | | Granite Suppliers Looking For Granite Suppliers? yellowpages.com | add comment | | | |
