I need some help! A really good friend of mine is getting married she's just announced it and her wedding is upon us really soon June 1, 2008.
I want to do something special for her because were really good friends and I don't want her to miss out on the traditional prenuptial festivities, is it normal to have a bridal shower for a couple who's eloping or would I be expecting to much from guests that won't be witnessing the marriage of this couple?
Please help and hurry please

| |  I would think it would be alright to throw them a surprise reception. If they are not going on a honeymoon you could do it for them later that evening or even the following weekend. I ran off to Vegas one time and had a small reception when I got back. Maybe ask a few of the friends and family of the bride and groom how they would feel about helping you throw it. I bet most people wouldn't mind sharing in the joy of the marriage even if they were not there for the main event.

| |  That's an absolutely fabulous Idea a surprise reception, have a potluck and some music maybe make it a reception/stag and doe party all at the same time.
WOnderful idea I'll see if I can put this together. I am sure my friends would be totally thrilled to know that their friends did this for them
