Reflexology |
| |
| What do you know about this procedure? Have you had it done? Does it work? I have heard about it before and just found out that a friend of mine is starting this business. Found out because her husband had hurt his back and this helped and when I mentioned my husband had also hurt his back, she said she would do three sections for free because she is trying to get her clincals in.. I think he should at least try it..I thing 3 sections would be enough to convince him if this is a true help or a bogus remedy to take people for their money.. | | | | | |

| | Reflexology is familiar here in my place and it is mostly done by blind people. It is actually a good income generating activity for them. I have tried this countless times, and I would say that it really works. Plus, it's not that expensive at all. It is also a stress buster. | | | | | | |

| | Wow, so your Reflexology person, (whatever they are called) is blind? That is cool, then you don't have to worry if you don't have good looking feet. So you say this works for both physical pain and stress? Oh how my husband can use that, thanks inday.. | | | |

| | reflexology does work but it does not heal certain parts of the body through the feet or help crystals or any of that other mumbo jumbo. reflexology is no more effective than a hand or head massage, they all embrace a calm soothing relaxing environment that is stress free and tension relieving. basically reflexology works by using the placebo affect, despite what many other people claim-normally women who also believe in religions and mediums etc.... | | | | | | |

| | Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm a reflexologist as was my uncle. You're right in that there are some things that reflexology can't cure, but it does effectively relieve pain without drugs. Some types of pain will persist even if the patient is taking a strong prescription drug, but reflexology can relieve that pain. It works by unblocking the electrical energy flow to certain parts of the body, allowing it to rebalance and heal itself. My mother used to get terrible headaches and the ONLY thing that would relieve them was my uncle working on her feet. I have relieved the pain of many people with reflexology, but I did have one customer with a genetic defect that the only relief I could give was very temporary, and similar to what she would have gotten through a good massage. | | | |

| | rhykos, maybe it won't heal, but the procedure may help my husbands body on the road to heal itself. I have actually did this with my hand to eliminate either a headache or toothache, but because I was doing it to myself, I don't think I got the same relief than if someone who knew what they were doing do it.. thebeaddoodler I appreciate your comment and wonder if I went with him and watched if I could copy it or have my friend show me so I could more or less keep him pain free? | | | |

| | sorry- think you have mis- read my comment-i agree that it helps people, but i strongly believe as backed up by lots of scientific research and many trials, it has been proven to work using the placebo affect, and just relieves stress in the same way a head massage works. as for unblocking the electrical energy-that's funny, maybe you should have called an electrician- electrical energy wtf?lol, sorry but that's has genuinely made me laugh. on a positive note though, if it really has helped people that is great, and if someone told me it was helping them i would encourage them to continue with it | | | |

| | my mother does reflexology-she swears by it and tries to convince me that it works-she thinks it helps her with her medical problems, i told her i dont believe it works, but she gets it free from her friend and as far as i am concerned it does her more good than harm so i am at peace with reflexology but dont like some of the stupid theories behind how it works, as it is misguiding and dishonest to the less educated people who are willing to spend a fortune on it. i see it as a nice massaging experience and nothing more than that-ive actually had it done on me and i must admit i liked it-but it certainly didn't heal me | | | |

| | I don't believe it is a magic fomular to curing all ills but it is a very relaxing experience and I think that is where you get the benefit although it does show up some areas of problems you might have. Last summer I had a session and the therapist said I had a liver problem. It has now come to light I have autoimmune hepititis, without being told I would not have found out about this problem until it had done me more damage. | | | |

| | I know nothing off it, for me I would be asking a lot og questiond before I would let them play with my back. Wheel chairs are no fun to live your life in one. | | | | | | |

| | They don't touch your back, it is through the feet, they massage the pressure points on your foot to relieve pain in other areas of the body..I talked to 2 of her customers last night and they both were very happy with her work.. | | | |

| | I believe this is where they use pressure points in the feet to stimulate different areas of the body. I don't know anyone who has ever done this so I can't tell you how effective it is. But I would say it certainly could not hurt to try it. Let us know if he does it and how it goes. | | | | | | |

| | a lot of people swear by religion but science has done many studies on it and there is no evidence that the massaging feet will directly affect other parts of the body, however reflexology is a very fulfilling and pleasant experience, but to claim you can heal disease and various other things from it is very far fetched | | | |
