This Years Idols Have Had Records Contracts in the past.

I know. It really does not make a difference to me. But a lot of poeple have been making a big deal about Carly and her contract. Heck she was 17 at the time and she flopped. Also if you look into the past of all the current contestants they all have some kind of perfessional or semi pro background. One of them has even done broadway. It should be about the talent and not the expirence.

I loved Carly too and hated to see her go. I just got tired of hearing people talk about her contract. All of the current contestants have had contracts, albums, done broadway and such.
As for star search believe it nor not it was David A. How old was he at the time? He must have been really little.

I really do not think it makes a difference. None of them were successful in the past. But then again they did not have the support of the huge American Idol publicity machine behind them.

I don't think anyone other than Carly has really done anything.

David Cook is in a band that plays local bar gigs and put out their own independant record. There are probably over 200 bands like that in my city alone. So it really means nothing.

David Archuleta was on star search but did he actually get a record contract off that? Did he win any money? Besides he's really young.

Syesha hasn't had a record deal at all. She's an actress/student.

I don't know about Brooke.... but really I can't see her getting paid to sing cause she sucks.

Jason Castro plays in bars etc. But he really never sang before American IDol. He was more of a muscian.

Carly had a whole record deal with a produced music video. I even slihtly remember seeing it on Much Music... which is the canadian equivalent to MTV. The record company sunk a lot of money into her. If you see the music video ... she sucked..

I agree with what others said before... Carly is amasing but has image issues.

The only ones who have never had a contract with a record label this year are:

Chikezie Eze, Asia’h Epperson, Jason Yeager, Ramielle Malubay and Danny Noriega

Notice none of them are still on?

ALL the rest of them HAVE been under contract by record labels sometime during their lives.

Thats amasing that David Archuleta could get a record contract at such a young age. He truely is talented.

I actually feel bad for David A. Yes he is talented but from I read his dad has pretty well been pushing into show business sense he was 6 and is a complete stage dad.
I will find the links and send them over. But if you want it has been every where on the web. It is a bit of a conservacy. You can do a search engine on it.
I also found out some past constants have been back up singers for people like Michael Jackson and have been on Broadway. American Idol has had Pros or Semi pros on the show all along.

yah David A has really been groomed for this. Thats another reason whey I hope he wins. I mean the kid has probably had no real childhood.


I dunno... being a backup singer and being a lead singer is a different thing.


I will agree that some people have been professional.... but none have had a chance to be a star.
