Ridiculous Coupon

I have a 'shopper's card' from a national change of drugstores who shall remain nameless. They offer it to their customers for free, and each purchase you make, adds to any coupons you might get, and if you purchase enough you do get a coupon for say 5 dollars worth off your next purchase. I never buy more than I need from there, and to be honest their coupons are never things I use. But today's coupon takes the cake. I would first like to say I'm not making fun of anyone who uses this product. I'm simply stymied by their claim to give coupons "everyone" can use, only to get the coupon I got, a coupon a lot more people have received as well, not just me. It was $5 off a future purchase of compression hosiery from their drugstore. What is the most ridiculous coupon you have ever seen, used, or heard of?

To bad you can't send it to me. My daughter uses compression hosiery. She works 12 hour shifts as an ICU tech and they really help her legs! Anyway, I think most of those things are gimmicks and I dislike the short time span you have to "redeem" these coupons (about a week or 10 days for many) and a set amount e.g. $5 off $50. I probably just spent 50 to get the $5 off and won't need to spend 50 again for a month! Or, if I do, then I can't find the stupid coupon...Oh, don't get me started on all that!!

You just can't win, can you Modestah. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I can't imagine how hard that would be.

they really are uncomfortable and I am anxious to get them off at the end of the day - but as soon as they are off I feel the fluid fill my legs up again... that too is uncomfortable. If I do not wear them my legs become like memory foam with deep pitting edema that does not repair itself for a long time.

Mmm..we have that here as well from Duane Reade....every time you make a purchase and get your club card swiped it tallys up to points--get enough points and you can get $5.00 off a purchase, but at least we have a choice of what we want that five dollars off from--so nope can't say I've gotten a weird coupon offer

We have a choice on what to spend the five dollars on that we earned. Sometimes I'll earn ten dollars to spend on whatever, although it seems to take a long time to do that. I was just using that coupon as an example of a very unusual coupon. Like along with the hosiery coupon is a coupon for saving $2 on generic tampons. And for the sake of us all, I'll stop there.

LOL, you're so right! You really do have to buy ALL that cat food for a 50 cent discount.

I really think that maybe what you buy should be remembered when using the card so that you get coupons for things you actually use instead of something they know alot of people don't use they save more money that way(the store) I have gotten a few that I have thought what in the world..Baby food or baby juices and I haven't even bought anything for babies or be concidered for babies. Useless for me anyhow. I think maybe they get paid by the company maybe to carry their coupons??

To bad they can't be given to someone that can actually use them that doesn't have a card. Well, I guess we have to take the good with the bad some we can some we can't use. Better luck to you next time hope you will get a great coupon that will can be used by you.

There might be alot more people out there with varicose veins then one realizes! Also they are used for after surgery so I suppose it makes sense to alot of people. Too bad you don't have the opportunity to use more of them. You would think if they offer them it would be on a few basic items that are useable by everyone!

That's what I mean. Sure someone will use it, or I hope they will. But as for the mass amount of their customers, they aren't useful. Like I said in an earlier response, an attached coupon was 2 dollars off generic tampons. Generic?

Sounds like CVS to me! I personally think all stores should only give out "dollars or percent off entire purchase." That would hold true to their claim of giving out coupons that everyone can use, and would give the customers more freedom...

And it would increase business. I would WANT to come to them if they did that, and therefore they would make more money.

i believe the coupons change over the weeks to try and make sure everyone is offered a discount on things they need and use, as you may not have a need for compression hosiery, there are many people that use these and are glad to see a savings, they may have run coupons that you use and they have no deed for so it evens out in the long run, I wish the coupons that are put out are for all that I use to but I find I throw most of them away, are you saying that you purchased enough to finally get a $5. off coupon and that is what it was for. So it was no use to you. If that is the case then I think the $5. coupons should reflect something everyone can use not just a few

we have those kinds of coupons here in our country too. one was that if you accumulate 50 coupons, you get a free massage in a certain spa. and you only get 1 coupon per visit. and each visit costs like and equivalent of 25 dollars. so it's not worth is at all!
