osteoarthritis

Hi Somiran:

My grandmother had her first attach of osteoparaosis and arthritis when she was 30. In happens more in women than men. No one knows why.

There are children who have arthritis that will become osterparosis when then get older.

The 4 once a week medicines don't help and make people sick.

The once a month medicine isn't available in Canada so I don't know about it.

There is nothing my grandmother can take to help the pain except an over the counter pain killer. It helps for a few hours...and MSM, an joint oiler.

i too agree wid u that osteoarthritis is a non curable disease, except for the joint replacement method. i would like to add some more information about it so that people know about it properly. its basically a degenrative disease occuring in old age and in some cases middle age due to over exertion of the major joints of the body esp knee joint and hip joint. in this condition there is a loss of the cartilage( a protein substance inbetween the joints which helps in mobility of the joint) thus leading to reduction of space between the joints and thus causing friction of the two bones(which form the joint. this condition gives rise to severe pain and tenderness, difficulty in movement of the joints, early morning stiffness.
the treatments available nowadays are anti-inflamatory drugs or pain killers, herbal supplements(glucosamine)which help to prevent the further damage of the cartilage(helpful only in early arhtritic condition) and ultimate solution is knee replacement therapy.
the best treatment i would suggets is to prevent such a condition by maintaining a healthy life which includes a healthy diet and regular exercise.
if one takes proper care of his healthy at early age then definately he can prevent himself from suffering from arthritic condition.....
lead a healthy and a happy life!!!!!!
