Where are you taking me? |
|
My dream for years has been to visit Scotland, and I hope within the next year to be able to do it. with all my lovely Scots friends, it's even a more appealing trip now.
So tell me, if I were to come and visit, would you welcome me with open arms or kick me to the curb? (Don't worry, I'll stay in a hotel). Or, maybe you'll conveniently have moved out of the country just after I book my flight?
If I do visit, and you do want to visit with me, what kinds of things will we do? Tell me what sites there are to see in your neck of the woods? And, would you be up for a UK myLot party? Could be fun, huh??
Help me start planning my trip!

1. xboxboy (1813) | 2 years ago | well, i spoke to my wife and she said you are welcome to witness a burning. not sure what she means.
I live in Bute, a island easily reached and i would be more than happy to show you some island hospitality and beautiful scenery.
what i would love is meet some more scottish mylotters and if your visit encourages this it would be fantastic!!

dfn12968 (5538) | 2 years ago | Not a fan of the England I take it, LnP? LOL I loved it there and do hope to go back someday.
But, since I have already been there and will be limited on funds, hopefully some of the myLot Brits would come for a visit to Scotland.

p1kef1sh (5652) | 2 years ago | Of course I will come. I'm not that petty. Also I don't have a Liverpool accent. I went there one Bank Holiday Monday. I stood out like a sore thumb. I was the only one sober! My accent is pure Home Counties. Just don't make it the last two weeks in September. We will be on holiday somewhere warm and where Grand Prix are run at night. It is going to cost us a fortune in carbon offset.

dfn12968 (5538) | 2 years ago | No worries, P1ke, it will be at the soonest the end of the year, and possibly in to 09. I have two other trips planned for the fall and winter and no money to pay for them, so why I am even thinking about this is beyond me. But, I'm pretty good at realizing my dreams eventually, so I know it will happen someday.

Loud I have lived in Alloa and it isn't that bad - well I don't think so and there is a lot round about the area - sometimes we just don't appreciate it cos we are so used to it!

4. alamode (1891) | 2 years ago | Well, for sure we'd have a couple of BRATparties... my mom, sisters, daughters, nieces, cousins and friends all together, doing what we do best... eat each others best food and get rowdy. This is the most fantastic group of women I've ever seen, and we know what fun is! Then there would be a trip up to the waterfall the town is named for... its not even 5 miles away, and its beautiful. Then down to Seattle for the Seattle Center/Space Needle tour... hopefully, someone we like will be there and we can catch a show or concert. Also, the Experience Music Project... the building looks like a train wreck, but inside its all about music and the displays are fascinating... go here:http://www.empsfm.org/aboutEMPSFM/index.asp?categoryID=157#emp1 to find out about the architecture... small pictures just don't do it justice. If there was enough time, we would definitely try to get up to Victoria, B.C... I am in love with that beautiful city and all there is to do and see there. BTW--- I am an extreme Anglophile... I spent an month in the U.K. many years ago, and am 'homesick' for it all the time! My family owned the Smith Bakery in London, which is a national historic site.

dfn12968 (5538) | 2 years ago | A week from Tuesday. Send your broom, it is probably cheaper than an airplane.
If you don't want to go to the zoo, we can skip it. If I come visit, we do everything together (almost).
Is it okay if cheese comes along? Oh, and when I go to Scotland, you will be coming with me.
| |
|
|
Goodie123 (7548) | 2 years ago | Okay how about you and Cheese go to the zoo. I have my reason's for never wanting to go there, but will not air them on mylot.
Please make sure you and Cheese are on the same plane. I could not handle 2 seperate emotional arrivals.
As long as you are going to Scotland straight after leaving Aussie land I will go with you. I dont trust my pilot, I think she has been drinking her own brew.
| |
|
|
dfn12968 (5538) | 2 years ago | We'll be on the same broom. I'll have to fly by and pick him up. I hope he can handle my driving.
Is the zoo that great? Zoos are fun, but ya seen one ya seen em all, right? I'd rather hang out with you.
| |
|
|
Goodie123 (7548) | 2 years ago | Well I really do not know why it is called a Zoo. It should be called a wildlife park or something like that.

6. inked4life (3357) | 2 years ago | If I were still in Scotland I would gladly take you on a tour of all my old haunts in Glasgow. My shortlist of things to do when visiting would include going to Edinburgh during thye festival and Military Tattoo. If you can get tickets for the show up at the castle, it's a must. While in Edinburgh, you should visit Rose St., a pedestrian walkway about a mile long with nothing but pubs on either side. A trip to Oban would also be in order, a breathtaking little place and the starting off point for a ferry trip to the islands. On the way to Oban there is a little church called St Conans Kirk, on the banks of Loach Awe, that may be the singlre most beautiful spot I have ever seen. Tons of other cool things. IM me, if you want to know more.
