What kind of wedding cake did you have or would like to have someday?

I had a court house wedding so no cake for me but I did better I got a big screen tv on my wedding night who needs that cake I can have cake anytime.

We have a chocolate vanilla swirl cake with white icing for our wedding cake.

We had two cakes, Ambie. One was some sort of white wedding cake and it actually tasted really good, and the second one was a groom's cake that was chocolate. It was really good looking with all sorts of chocolate decorations and it was supposed to be for me but I never even got one piece of it.:(

I myself had a traditional fruit cake one for the bottom tier and the middle and a sponge cake at the top but all iced the same but to cater for those that don't like fruit cake, but my old boss and his wife as they were getting married in Devon had a giant scone cooked and had jam and fresh cream in the middle and served the cake as a Devon Cream Tea, very novel and all enjoyed, strawberry jam too (I know you like strawberries LOL). I made my own wedding cake for my second wedding. I made it with 6 layers, 2 layers per tier. I had the base layer was white, the middle layer was marble and the top layer was chocolate. It was iced with cream cheese frosting. I am not a cake decorator, so I cheated a little and had a friend of mine that works in a bakery make me up some pretty roses of different colors and some greenery to put on it. Then I chose the bride and groom to put on it. I saved a whole lot of money that way... boy way that cake heavy! I had to use tooth picks to hold each layer down to keep it from sliding, because I knew when I moved it to the reception it would slide. If I ever get married again I will just do it easier and use columns ... my cake tasted good though because it was home made. I was able to borrow the cake pans to make a full sized wedding cake.

If I remember correctly it was a white cake with white and purple icing..I know today with people not liking white cake, (I love it because the only time I get it is at weddings.. ), they now have half and half, half white the other half chocolate..That is what my niece had at her wedding..

No, I didn't have a wedding cake,no reception, no bridal shower nothing we just went to the justice of the peace got married and that was the end of it. Our first cake was a cake I made for our first anniversary. I would have loved to have had a real wedding day with the works to have made me feel special and cherished but couldn't afford it. I wanted to redo my vows on our 10th anniversary but it didn't happen and I wanted to have the wedding day I didn't have when we were married. Lemon mmm, sounds delicious and delightful that is my favorite kind next to french vanilla cake.

I had a marble cake with butter cream frosting on it..it was small and so was the wedding! LOL

hi AmbiePam, when we got married we did not have a wedding cake. Simply as the original planning got messed up.
We wanted to celebrate with guests after the wedding in the church and not after the civil wedding. We had planned on the church ceremony around 2 pm and then a short walk to a special nice place and coffee and cake for everyone who wanted, no real guests list there. When I wanted to book the chosen place it was booked out for that whole day. Forget it and so forget the wedding cake.

We had then rearranged the plans, the wedding ceremony took place at 4 pm and we went to a restaurant after it for an early dinner, was okay too with us.

I had some friends that had a homemade spice type cake with white icing. Most of the wedding's I've been to have store made white cakes.

If I were to marry and have a wedding cake, what I ate would have to be made with special icing so it didn't have corn starch in it. This corn allergy is a PITA!
