Kids and Collections

My daughter is not yet 5. She has a collection of stuffed animals. She also has a plastic animal figurine collection. She plays with it daily. It has animals ranging from dinosaurs to tigers. And any animal in between.

My best friend's kids all collect stuff. The youngest is 9 and she collects Barbies. She has Barbie shoes, Barbie dolls and all the Barbie stuff. Her two brothers both collect cars. They have those little (what I call match book cars) and the bigger ones. They are now putting together model cars ... like Corvette's and things. They are very interested in stuff like that.

My son collects rock and nothing fancy just plain ol rocks. I hate it cause they take up alot of space and most are very ugly but he loves em.

My son is four and isn't really collecting anything yet but has a small amount of pebbles that he picks up and hides all together so I suppose that is a start, my daughters both collected Beanie bears and I remember collecting stamps as a child, just British Commonwealth ones. Ellie:D

I don't have any young children anymore. My son collects movies and tv series such as seinfeld, and all the stars wars series.

I collect money if that counts. I'm very fond of it and I would like to have more and more of them.

My youngest son kind of collected Pokemon cards, but since he never played the card game with anyone, he lost interest. Now he collect basketball cards here and there. Also those tiny miniature skateboards which I hate. Nothing I would call a real collection.

The older kids, now in their twenties were more collection oriented. My daughter collected beanie babies, Barbies, and anything with a frog. My son collected Star Wars memorabilia, and had a huge collection of Dungeons and Dragons and other role playing cards.

Anhedonia, my youngest Son turned 13 his last birthday, his room is filled with tin boxes, shoe boxes, all stuffed with treasures of his childhood. Everything from arrowheads, rocks, Yu-gi-o cards, matchbox cars you name it and he has it archived in a treasure box. At his age now its all about gaming consoles CD's Books and posters. He still has many action figures from his super heroes that adorns his room, along with guitar equipment. His tastes are so much like mine in that they are eclectic. He can not commit to one or two hobbies he must have many.

My 8 year old has started a collection of Ben 10 toys over the last 6 months. He says he is collecting them anyway. He does play with them fairly often.

My daughter used to collect beanie kids, they are cute little fluffy bears, they each come with a name and a birthdate. There are all different kinds like Anger bears, clown ones, nurses and doctor teddies.
