Text message.....Mom their robbing our house i'm hiding,....help

What would I have done? Messed my drawers, have my second heart attack then die all in that order and I'm no kid. This is brutal. I don't think we can really say till we're in that position, but if this did in fact happen I just can't believe a child could contain herself to this degree. Good for her. However too bad this did happen.

That is a really scary thing to have happened to the girl, she is so lucky that she was not spotted or it could have been even worse. Lucky that she was able to text her mum and that her Mum was able to get help and get home quickly, if I had been that girls Mum I would have been terrified.

I would hope that if it happened to me that I would be able to do the same thing, with me though I do not always carry my phone around the house so if I was upstairs then I would be stuck. Perhaps I should start to carry it about with me again, just in case.

That was really terrifying experience and the girl was brave enough to do that. She do her best to ask for help even if she knows that it was dangerous they might killed her if they caught her doing that. Thanks God that nothing bad happen to her.

I would have done the same thing this mom did. Thats my kid id have gotten home as fast as i could and hope I didnt give myself a heart attack due to worry. That poor girl that had to be awful im glad they didnt see her.

Hi Mechanicone! Thank God for text messaging! I am glad the girl is safe and I do admire her courage and quick thinking. She must have been really scared. I will be if I were in her shoes. I would like to think that in such situation, I will be as courageous as the girl and think of ways I can ask for help. The first thing that I will do is lock my bedroom door and call on 911 and maybe if I am really secured in my locked bedroom door, I will open my window and scream for help at the top of my voice so my neighbors will hear me; that is if I find my voice from all the fear that is enveloping my whole body. Well since I'm not a kid, I might have used weaponry to stop them. I have no qualms using force up to the fatal to protect my self, family and home (but isn't it twisted some people in society don't like that -_-).

If it was me as a kid, I'd have texted and done the same thing the child did.

I don't know what I would have done, it is one of those instances that you don't know what you would do until you have to do it. You never know what your fight and flight instinct is going to make you do. Hopefully I will never find out.

All I can say is what a brave girl!! I don't know what I would have done in that situation. I am glad she was able to text her mom like that.

This is terrifying! I have to say though, how dumb do they have to be to sit on her bed and not realize that she was there??

I'm glad that she was able to get a hold of her mom and get help though. I cannot imagine what would have happened had they gotten clean away, or if they'd found her under the covers. Her ordeal could have been so much worse.

On an even more sobering thought, it seems there are people who do not care about others at ALL. That girl and her mom worked hard to get what was in that home in order to live in comfort. It sickens and saddens me that other people think they have the right to just come on in and take it!

If I were in that situation, I probably wouldn't have stayed hidden. I'd have been after those assailants with the first thing that reached my hands. My partner keeps a baseball bat under the bed too - just in case. It's his way of feeling safe lol.
