May Blizzard shuts down parts of South Dakota  

I heard all about the blizzard and saw pictures I live in Nebraska so South Dakota is the state right above us. It snowed here last night it was only enough to cover the grass and the cars though we didn't get all that accumulation like South Dakota did. I fell bad for them!

I think mother nature is trying to tell us something, like stop hurting her environment!

Oh dear, the weather patterns really are changing aren't they? I would hate to be caught in a blizzard. That happened in the UK not too long ago when all the cars on the motorway got blocked in. Some people tried to run their cars so that their heaters worked but then they ran out of petrol. I think they were stuck there for something like 12 or more hours. Can you imagine if you had small kids in this sort of conditions. Eeek. The emergency services got a lot of stick as they couldn't get people out - lucky for everyone I think they all came out alive but in shock.

I could not get onto the link Mooch, but I cannot believe that there are blizzards like that going on at this time of the year!! Maybe Mother Nature is still busy tidying her hair and nails up and is getting a little mixed up with her weather!! If it came here I would be gutted, I hate snow and plus I am going on holiday in 3 weeks so I do not want that coming over and spoiling it, I am hoping for a little good weather at least!!

Alot of places up north mid west still have snow in may and sometimes June. Nothing new to that but in MAryland it would really put a damper on things

You must be wrong we are having Global warming.
Every indicator states Global warming, and the ice caps are melting.

NO you just think that was snow, and you think it rained and you think its cold.

Do us all a big favor stop thinking.

Now something Important, about 40 miles from here we had or first snow I said SNOW for the season, this is good for all as its about 3 week early.

So cross fingers for a good year of snow for us.

OK then just to make you happy send all your snow over here so you can have your spring. HAPPY NOW/

I know neighbor. I am in Northern Virginia and it wouldn't be pretty. Everything would stop. We wouldn't be prepared for that much of snow.It would be a nightmare.I think mother nature is just having fun with us.Spring has got to be around the corner, even in South Dakota.

though highly unusual when you live in the north or in the mountainous areas you have to expect that these anomalies will happen from time to time. I remember a snowstorm here in Montreal on May first, I am 53 years old and it only happened once but it did happen and it could happen. I have never heard of snow in June though.

Yeah, something like that Mooch. I've experienced a blizzard here in Georgia, but it was the wintertime. The only blizzards I have ever experienced in the spring and summer are from Dairy Queen!

that is why I am now living in Southern California lol
I am so glad I am not back there now. Ihave been caught
in a blizzard when I lived here and we were forced to stop at a teacherage out ijn the country where the teacher had
a pot bellied stove and hot coffee.my dad phoned Butch
Breneman the town tow truck driver and he had a huge truck with chains and snow plow and he towed us the nine more miles to our farm. bless his heart hes probably with the angels now as that was sixty some years ago and he was probably sixty then as I am now eighty one.so am so glad to be here in Ca.

I would hate it! But I love hearing old stories about blizzards and the like in years gone by..
