Do you believe this story .......because it happened to our family! |
|
My husband has a dear cousin that used to live in Utah with her kids and husband while he was in the service. When her son Michael was about 3 he got a really high fever and ended up in the ICU in grave condition. He had 104 temp for ten days and the doctors gave him little chance of recovery and if he did they said he would most surely be brain damaged. He suddenly got better after much prayer through the Catholic churches we all attended and got to go home. They were amazed to find out he was perfectly fine with no side effects whatsoever with the fever! A year later his uncle was talking to little Michael and teasing him about the girlfriend he had. He explained to his uncle that he had two girlfriends! So Uncle Stan asked him who the other one was, knowing that the little girl next door was the first, and he replied that it was the lady in the blue dress....he said she would hold his hand in the hospital when mommy and daddy had to leave each night! So we believe that St Mary was with our little Michael and that our prayers were answered! Do you believe? Or do you think this is something I made up.....Have you ever had an experience like this?

1. shopgirl (2433) | 3 months ago | I do not believe it was any saint. I believe it was your son's spirit guide and it wasn't time for your son to go home to be with First Father (God in your terms). It is really wonderful that your son has recovered, keep him safe in the future and much good luck to you and your wonderful son.

Not only with the God, with every one, if you have a good faith, believe you will not be defeated at any point time. As for as God is concern, even if that may be the St.Mary, Lord Ganesh, Lord Shiva, Jesus, Allah, or Even Lord Vishnu.. You may keep them differentiate for your easy assessable, and identifications, but "GOD" is one, which is above you to help you out from your problem, save you from your bad thing, protect you too from so and so... The power which is beyond you.. is called "GOD". Those who believe him, he will not leave them.. but he wants to you to believe him fully.. thats all.. Thanks for postings..

3. Gollywog (485) | 3 months ago | A lot of people have out of life exsperiences? They are so close to the edge and if someone is there they decide, will we take this body or not. They give life back for a reason Michaels destiny has been made for him, he will be someone very special to others in life.He is already very special to his family, he had an angel with him thats for sure. It could have been a nurse or hospital staff who were keeping an eye on him, but who ever, the angel was still there!!!!!

hornswaggled (867) | 3 months ago | I didn't go into it fully but he said she wore a long blue dress and had a "blanket" on her head; as he described. This would be most like a person like St Mary who is always shown as wearing a blue gown and headdress common in Jesus's time. This was such an amazing thing for our family that I love to share it. Whether it was an angel or someone else we will never know but I think prayers helped him to survive!

4. ellie333 (3758) | 3 months ago | I believe you. I wouldn't actually say that she was St. Mary but definately a guardian angel there holding his hand and the power of prayer is a wonderful thing. 'When two or more are gathered the Holy Spirit is present with you' I believe in miracles and your son being well with no damage is one of lifes many. God bless. Ellie:D

5. angelwhispers30 (1448) | 3 months ago | I don't think this woman in the blue dress was a saint. I think it was either his Spirit Guide or his guardian angel sent to watch over him and to ensure he got better. If the child's time was up, he wouldn't have made it through. There are so many things that leave us awestruck and baffled in todays world, and we all have different beliefs. Like your family believe it was St Mary, and how I believe it was his Spirit Guide or Guardian Angel, it's still not easy to explain exactly who it was that this boy saw in the Hospital. It's just yet more proof for me that something does exist beyond the world we know, and that they really do help people.

6. oneandonemakesix (24203) | 3 months ago | Yes i do believe this story and I have heard other stories from similar to it, I know that God works in mysterious ways and I am so very very glad your cousin has recovered. I believe that God sent an angel, or even Mary (symolic that she was a mother as well to help your som through. Just as I believe in demons as well. Mooch

hornswaggled (867) | 3 months ago | Me too mooch, I don't think a lot of people believe that with every good there is also evil. If you read the bible it does talk about it but it seems that some don't want to think about this. Thanks for responding to my discussion!

7. fec139 (450) | 3 months ago | while i certainly don't think you are lying about what the little guy said, i think the lady in the blue dress was either a nurse or a hallucination. I am not Christian, so I am not up on the saints, but I wonder how you came to this conclusion. Does this St Mary wear a blue dress? Don't some nuns wear blue dresses? And who cares at this point anyway? The kid survived for whatever reason......
| |
| |
|
|
hornswaggled (867) | 3 months ago | Traditionally in Roman Catholic theology, people have stated over the years that apparitions of St. Mary were with her wearing a long soft blue dress and headdress of the time of Jesus. This has been documented time and time again. As for whether the nurses and nuns wear this, the outfits of these women is very different. I am not arguing on this subject, just stating the information that I was told. Thanks for responding to this discussion and you have a great day fec my friend!

|
|
sparkofinsanity (1535) | 3 months ago | Fec - you asked "Who cares at this point anyway?" Anyone with a Catholic background or a belief system in Jesus, Mary and Joseph would care and care deeply, no matter when. Horn is Catholic and I imagine has raised her son that way. So it would matter very much to him too. And really - when there is belief, who's to say what's hallucination and what's not? Perhaps that's how God and His angels and saints reveal themselves to us. I'm sorry, but I find your tone a little rude and that's just not nice. It's obvious YOU don't care, but please don't take that away from those of us who do.

| cecilie (2) | 3 months ago | Well, i certainly believe in this story, not only because thatI hold on to my religion, but I think what's important here is the faith. When you have faith then you already solve half of the problem. It cannot be proved that there is GOD or Saint, but those holy spiritual figure are all the symbol of faith, belief and hope in human lives.
| |
|
|
fec139 (450) | 3 months ago | Yes, I do believe in faith and hope. Perhaps because I am not Christian, I don't get the "saint" thing. But what I meant in my post [and it came out wrong, for which I apologize because I didn't intend to offend anyone] is this: whether it's St. Mary, G-d, a higher power, it matters less what you call it than the fact that it worked, and it can be something so vague as just faith in miracles in general. I live it every day. I was diagnosed with ALS in 2004, and I was expected to live 2-5 years. It is now well over 5 years since the onset of my symptoms. I have seen people die from this disease within months, and I know two people who have lived with ALS for more than 10 years. I attribute my longevity to a miracle. It may be the miracle of science, or miracle of G-d, but I don't care which one it is...it's MY miracle! And I am grateful for every day!

hornswaggled (867) | 3 months ago | Fec I am so happy for you...I know you live with the fear of death every day and more importantly the loss of being able to live the way you would like! I think your an amazing person and hope that this miracle that I know is one, will keep on going for as long as you want to be here! I thank you for letting us know how it is with you and appreciate you sharing it with all of us!

sparkofinsanity (1535) | 3 months ago | Fec, thank you for coming back and explaining. My heart goes out to you in your struggle. You will be in my prayers. -- Just because you may not have faith, doesn't mean that the faith we have for you won't work! LOL God's loves us whether we love Him you know. Hugs.

8. dragonfly242 (763) | 3 months ago | I do believe. There are many things that happen and can't be explained by logic. There has been times in my life where i went through so much pain emmotionally, and i dont know how i made it but i did.I believe that there's a higher power, call it what you want. It's obvious that your nephew experienced something during his illness, and no matter who your family credits i believe that whom ever was there to comfort your nephew was a saint,be they mortal or immortal.

9. sparkofinsanity (1535) | 3 months ago | I believe you horn. Completely. When my oldest was a child (it started when he was about 2 years old) he used to get high fevers too - out of the blue he'd come down with a fever that used to send him into convulsions. The first few times I rushed him to the hospital but there really wasn't much they could do because of his high tolerance to most drugs. About the third or fourth time it happened, I began keeping him home, and watched over him and bathed his forehead and the back of his neck in cold water and held his shoulders while he convulsed. Eventually he would throw himself over the edge of the bed and throw up and the fever would break - just like that. And he'd be fine, fall asleep and get up hours later as if nothing had happend. During these times though, I KNOW I saw a figure in filmy white with a blue sash around her waist cradling his head and stroking his temples all during his convulsions. I wasn't frightened, as I was too involved in what I was doing to help him. But she was always there and when he finally purged his stomach, she would just fade away. I always prayed during these times to the Blessed Mother and I'm convinced it was Her there with us, being a mother to my son. He finally outgrew these fevers at about 10 years of age and hasn't had any so intense since. You know - the only person I've ever shared that with is my son. Thank you for reminding me of the power of faith and trust in God.

hornswaggled (867) | 3 months ago | Thank you Sparks for telling me that! I believe like you that it was her.She watches over all children and I know I have prayed to her when my daughter has been on a plane or on a helicopter being flown 85 miles away to try to save her life with asthma. This has happened three times so far in the last 3 years and they said she doesn't stand a chance of getting through this but she's still with us isn't she?! So yes I believe you...I believe that if YOU believe it will happen. I don't know how your son got those fevers or why my husbands cousins son got them but they are both fine aren't they!?! So you keep the faith my friend and you smile knowing you are a believer!
| |
|
|
sparkofinsanity (1535) | 3 months ago | Horn, I make it a practice to 'smile' in some way at God every day. I know He smiles back. How cool is that huh? It's not really hard to believe you know, if you just LET yourself.

hornswaggled (867) | 3 months ago | Your so right! I will always believe, even if sometimes I get frustrated or mad I know he's there. I had a time in my earlier life when I was really angry at God but I think that was ok with him too. Like a father he waited patiently for me to grow up and to see what I needed to see and I did. Now we are pretty good friends and I talk to him each and every day and I believe he answers me back. Thanks for the uplifting comments girly! Have a great week!

|
sparkofinsanity (1535) | 3 months ago | You're welcome my dear. After all - we are made in His image and He and Jesus had plenty of anger themselves at times, so I'm sure He understands. Hugs.

10. dizzblnd (745) | 3 months ago | I have never experienced anything like this. But I believe your son had his guardian angel next to him caring for him and loving him. Children are much more open minded to angels, saints, spirits and the other worldly then adults are. Even without the prayers, though I know they helped immensely, I think she still would have been there for him when you couldn't be. I will bet you, if you ask him, he still sees her today. She is there to watch over him. What a beautiful experience for him to have. Thank you for sharing this with us, I am glad she was able to help save him.
