At the precise moment that he was supposed to play a scene where he was supposed to 'die', but fortunately for him his co-star realized that he was not acting and stepped out of role and asked for a doctor.....

Once the actors realized what was going on they asked the show to be halted, the support from the audience who was there have been overwelming and many have called to find out how the actor is doing, send their well wishes.

Have you ever been in a scene where life imitates art?
Do you think you could discern real from acting?

Wow! Lucky for him the other actor knew the actor was not in character. Yes, being a nurse, I do believe I can tell the difference between pretending to die and crashing. I'm always seeing TV shows and movies where the things they do are not real.. and especially when someone is acting doing CPR.. I can catch so much that the untrained person doesn't catch.

That is a bit strange, I think if that had been me I would be retiring from that point on!! A little bit too close for comfort. If the acting was really good then I probably would not have known the difference in whether he was acting or really having a heart attack, I would probably be the one standing up to applaud shouting " Bravo Bravo" while the poor man lay dying!!!

Hi mooch! It is a good thing that his co-actor realized that he is really in distress and not just acting out the part. I am just glad to know he is alright. But if I am there watching, I might be so nervous and scared for him. And it is a good thing that I have never experienced any kind of event like that as in life imitates art. And I wouldn't even be sure if I can discern if its real anymore or it is just acting. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day! happy

I'm an actress and thank god that something like that has never happened to me. There was a time when I was rehearsing for this musical in my high school and I had my period. I was feeling really sick and I thought that I was going to keel over but thankfully I didn't. I am glad that the actress noticed that he was not in character.

OMG how scary is that! Thank goodness his fellow actors realised what was going on otherwise it could have ended very differently.

How wonderful to hear that they had such good support from the audience, things like this make you want to hug humanity once again.

I haven't experienced anything like this where an 'artistic scene' is played out in real life, thank goodness!

It would depend on how good the actors are to know whether you would be able to discern the difference but there are so many really good unacknowledged actors out there that I would seriously be able to doubt if I could detect the difference.

Thanks for sharing this with us Mooch.

The actor that played the blind guy on Star Trek, and on Reading Rainbow said that he was hit in the head during a play, passed out, lay there, then got up and kept going. Makes you wonder how much this kind of thing happens! I hope this guy was alright!

It's good he came out fine. I do hope he is doing well now. We have to care for our bodies since we never know when our time will come.

if the actors are really good, they are acting like it is real, many of the great actors can do that, but the other actors in the play or what not know how the scene is supposed to look whereas the audience doesn't so they have the advantage like in this case to know that something was wrong.

no i have never been in such a scene in my life but i would like to say that actor is very lucky otherwise his acting would have been real in a very short time, he must thank to his co-star who found out what is going on at the right time.

That would have really been strange. I wonder how long it took the audience
to catch on. One time I was watching a choral performance where one
of the choir members fell down and broke an ankle. I thought at first it
was part of the show. slow to catch on I guess.
