I rearrange my house at least once a month. Does anyone else do this? email this discussion to a friend?

I have been told this is a problem. My situation is that I live in such a small place and we accumulate so much stuff. For example, my son just had his 3rd birthday and his grandmother went kind of overboard! She flew in for the occasion and she had to pay for the extra luggage all the gifts were in! Well, in her defense, she just adores her first grandchild. Long story short, I am taking a break from rearranging my son's room, feeding my newborn, holding a conversation with Cosmo, and writing this. I am known to move the house around so often that it doesn't even phase my husband anymore. There are times he would go to bed and wake up to a new arrangement! Like I said though, there are reasons for doing this so often. That's why I do not think it's a problem, but others disagree. Do any mylotters rearrange their homes often? Why do you?

I used to do that and then I started forgetting that I moved stuff the night before .. that lead to more than a few stubbed toes and accidents. We have a lot of pets and they don't deal well with stuff like that when I go a little bonkers and start moving stuff around.

I remember when we were in college and we had a cat. She would sniff and purr the whole time. I felt bad, but I just had to get it done!!!!

I do not do that at all. Our apartment is rather small and moving stuff is a huge pain. To the point where we are using a crowbar to rip apart some of our furniture so that we don't have to burden the movers.

Isn't it just a pain in the butt to live in such small quarters? I don't know how the Japanese do it. I watched this documentary on them and they mentioned how a lot of them live in such small spaces to save money and they were rarely at their place anyways. It was just a place for them to eat and sleep. I like to have a home since I do not work and I do a lot here.

We have 1,000 sqft so it isn't that small. We have a problem with how choppy the rooms are. I can't wait until me move at the end of this month. The floor plan is 100 times better.

No, I don't do this at all. It seems like a lot of hard work! I can understand why you do it, it's easy to accumulate so much stuff. Before we had children we already had too much but now it's getting ridiculous, and we also have an over-enthusiastic grandma, who's new hobby happens to be e-bay... So you can imagine.

It's funny that your husband isn't even phased by it now. It must be interesting to live in your house and never know where the furniture's going to end up next, must keep everyone on their toes!

I have lived in my home for 3 years and made just one move-to get my computer upstairs where I can use it whenever I want to. Best thing I ever did, except now I don't do much else. Especially since I discovered myLot and surveys. So fun! You may have a spacial relationship problem, but as long as no one cares, have fun!

When I was growing up my momma rearranged 4-5 times per year, so that was a regular thing for us. I do that once in a while myself.
With so little space there is not much changes you can make.
With me, I would explain to mom that I know you what to gave your grand-baby everything you possibly can, but I dont have sufficient space presently.
Maybe you can encourage her to put the money that she is now spending towards a savings bond for his education.

HOLY SMOKES!!!! There is someone else in this world just like me, lol! I move furniture around ALOT! I think I changed my living room furniture around three times last month, lol! My hubby is also amused by this post, as he always tells me no one else does this as often as I do, and he can relate to the waking up in the morning to a new arrangement thing, or coming home from work to a new arrangement.lol!. I have slowed down a little, over the last few years however, as I just don't seem to have the strength or the ambition lately. I change furniture around to suit my frame of mind at the moment actually and to give an illusion of more space in a small area. I hate clutter!

I hate clutter also. There are times however where I rearrange for no reason. Once in awhile, I end up with extra furniture that I just cannot find a spot for and give it away. We just do not have the space to store things anywhere. Then, when I rearrange again, I would wish I had that one piece! But, I have also slowed down. Everyone in my family thinks it's a waste of time, but if it makes me feel good, I will continue to rearrange.

I've done that too...given stuff away and then forgot I got rid of it, or wished I still had it, but not for long. Like you, I rearrange again and move on. Glad to know there is someone else out there like me!
