only child was you, i was to  | |  did you like or hate being an only child? for me i hated it as always wanted brothers and sisters to play with, chat to etc, but it wasnt meant to be, so i spent half of my child hood playing alone as my dad was at work and mum was busy cooking and cleaning etc. i was a very shy inward child as well and didnt have any friends. my father would take me over the park sundays to play sports with me but i really needed children of my own age to play with and at that time at school i was so shy that i had no friends. have you had these experiences?

| | | | | | | | 1.  cher913 (7246) | 3 months ago |  you are not alone! i know many 'only children' that hated being an only and still hate it! i have to say being an only was not fun (but everyone wanted to be me when i was growing up - lots of presents!) but it was quite lonely! i am pretty outgoing, but even at my old age of 46 still wish i had a sibling to share things with!
i also worry about what to do with my parents as they age!
