Do you think it is wrong to throw yourself a baby shower?  |

 I was going to throw baby shower for myself next month. My husband thinks that it is wrong. He says that someone else should do it for me or I shouldnt do it at all. I dont really have anyone to throw a shower for me but i really want to have one. Not for the gifts, but for the experience and to have the pictures to put in the baby book. I mean i will appreciate anything i get and it will help a lot but that is not the reason that i want to have the shower. I dont see anything wrong with it. Do you think that it is wrong?

If I'm near your area, I will volunteer to sponsor such a shower for your baby. But then, I'm too far away so I guess you can call some near kinsfolk or friends and suggest them. As long as you can afford, you can always do that. Congratulations for your baby!

If you have a few close friends but just don't want to ask them yourself, have him mention to them that he wanted to do something nice for you but not sure how to do it.
Maybe they'll help him, or decide to do it themselves.

Tallymommy (1576) | 4 months ago |  I think if you are throwing one expecting gifts it's a bit strange...maybe you could include on the invite to bring no gifts and that it is just to have fun and celebrate, you'll seem less needy then...are you sure you have no one to give you one? Your husband should be throwing you one, you could get around the whole gift faux pas that way maybe, but anyway, congratulations!!

Baby showers aren't really done here in Australia but my cousin decided to throw herself one, i actually thought the way she did it was greedy because as far as i can tell, she only did it so she could get away with not buying a lot of the things for herself! She did other things to give me the thoughts though:)
If you want one but really don't have anyone to throw it for you, then i reckon you should just do it!
Maybe you could call it just that - a Baby Party - invite some friends for games, drinks & stuff like that, then if you get anything it will just be an added bonus!
