Should I - Or Shouldn't I? Have you thought about these too? |
| |
| Okay, this isn't another rant about gas prices, but I am looking at a bigger picture this summer. I've been looking at purchasing a rechargable mower. From what I've seen they run about 20 minutes on a charge, which is about perfect for me because that's about how long I last then I need a break anyway. Does anyone out there have a batter opporated lawn mower? Have you had much success with them? I have some brom patches in our yard and I'm just wondering what caliber of mowers these are and if they're make to go through the heavier grasses. It's that or go back to the traditional push mowers that the only power they need is me pushing it. | | | | | |

| | I've also looking between electric and battery operated. I don't know if I like the extension cord ones, but haven't really looked that hard yet either. I'd love a rechargable one. I think that would be ideal. Our local stores look at me like I'm from mars or something so maybe I'll look more online. Where did you see these mowers? | | | |

| | I saw them on TV in an ad for Canadian tire. They are also on their website (www.canadiantire.ca) I searched lawnmower and they show up as Cordless lawn mowers. There are four on the site made by Yardworks. | | | |

| | Thank you for that! I'm not in Canada, but I can imagin that these are going to be more and more popular with the gas prices. I'll do more looking on line - google yardworks and see if there is a dealer in the US. | | | |

| | hi there i am in much the same as our prices for gas geting worse it is like about $1.93 for 95/96 octane @ shell & hte government want to tax us another 40+ cents & the gas watchers were saying that we are going to be upto about the $3 mark by xmas this year. i am thinking seriously about getting a battery operated one as i have herd that they are a briliant machine especaly the morrison brand as they are more reliable also. but i don't know if i am going to get one a little before winter as it's almost here now so i probebly will wait till spring when the weather is better . they are a very light as i can pick it up quite easy with little effort & i have a back problem so i think this is the way i am going to go myself anyhow. latas lamb101 xooxoxooxoxoxoxo | | | | | | |

| | Morrison - I'll write that down. Are you finding these locally? I'm not having much luck so maybe purchasing online will be my only option. I know I can go into a store and order it if need be. I'll keep Morrison brand in mind. Thank you for that. | | | |

| | I am sorry LJ, I cannot help you with your choice of mowers. I think we will be sticking to our petrol one. I can mow, most of the yard on one tank if I do not let the grass get too long. I can only mow for about 20 minutes also, before I need to stop. I am going to do a bit everyday. Happy Mothers Day for tomorrow LJ. | | | | | | |

| | With our push mower, it would take two tanks, but it's heavy and I know the electric or battery ones are lighter. I just don't know if it will stand up to the kinds of grasses on our farm place. Brom is a pain and I have more sticks in my yard that the larger ones just mow right through. I don't know. I really hate to wait for hubby to do it because he only does it one a month and I'm fighting through jungle just to hang up clothes. | | | |

| | That is why I have started mowing our lawn again when I feel well enough. I cannot stand, standing in long grass to hang my washing out. | | | |

| | LOL I finally said I wasn't doing anymore laundry until the jungle was tamed! I can't stand walking threw knee high grass to hang my clothes out. I think it's pretty sad what once I hang everything the grass touches it. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of haning it out. | | | |

| | That is one think I don't have to worry about. In the 10 years I've lived here I've only see two snakes. A bull snake and a garter snake. We live on a hill about 100 years from a natural creek bed, but our place has ants like you wouldn't believe so no snake would last here because the ants to into the snake holes and kill them. | | | |
