Doing Something That You Know Is Wrong |
|
I think most of us has done something that was wrong. Most of us most likely knew it was wrong when we were doing it. Have any of you just stopped doing what you knew was wrong before you had finished doing it? You knew it was wrong before you started... knew it was wrong when you were doing it but somewhere along the line something told you to stop doing it? Did you stop? What was it that made you stop? Was it someone or something? Or was it something inside of yourself that made you stop? I'd really like to know, if any of you would care to share.

1. mz_Ira (146) | 3 months ago | haha.. while reading this it made me smile and laugh as I have done things that obviously to me were wrong. Reasons would be it was a need to do that, i had to do it because I was just lazy so I was in a mood of "Don't care" of what will the outcome be and last would be because I just feel to be bad hahha. With these reasons, I stop sometimes though coz its what my mind says^_^ I really cant fight my mind and heart^_^

2. tjades (780) | 3 months ago | I have been in this position more than once. Stopping was either based on guilt or just inconvenience. If it was something I was doing out of sheer rebellion or curiousity then guilt may have more than likely kicked in. There were times however when whatever i was doing just didnt make sense to me so I just quit. (lol)

3. someonesmom (1706) | 3 months ago | I definitely have experienced this type of thing, and on more than one occasion. Since I don't know the specifics of what you mean here, or if you're speaking from your own experience, I hope I'm on the right track. One particular time comes to mind for myself, when I did something that I knew was wrong for me, for sure. This was many years ago. Yes, I did stop, before things got out of hand, and I was consumed by guilt over my intentions, even though I didn't follow through. I can say too, that it was something inside myself that stopped me, before I became entangled in a potentially dangerous situation. I'm thankful that I turned out to be safe through all of this, and I've vowed never to do anything like it again. Take care.

Most of us learn by that one stupid wrong mistake. Many of us never learn until we are either parents or older. I learnt by being a parent and getting older. Sure I still do things that are wrong, But we all cannot be perfect. If everyone was perfect, what a boring world we would be living in.

5. zed_k4 (738) | 3 months ago | Hello there. This is certainly a good discussion because only today, I have done something wrong and has made this particular person upset. I'm not going to put in the gender there, but let's just say that this person is truly upset with me right now and I wish that I could set it right. I knew that what I did was wrong but it just wasn't purely intentional and is much playing on my subconscious mind. I only realized that this person started to become so angry when I'm being ignored and I just couldn't get a word out. This happened after working hours and so, I owe this person an apology but simply this person wouldn't hear it. I sort of blame myself but at the same time, I thought it was not that big a deal. Let's just say that I do realize my mistake and I hope this person will forgive me. If you hear the real story, you will say that it's not that big a deal, but I just feel bad that I had made this minor mistake and spoil the day for this particular person. So to answer this discussion, yes, I have done something that I know is wrong; subconscious or non-subconscious and it does makes me hurdle. Thanks and take care.. I hope things will be fine tomorrow. -sighs-

6. lucy02 (4177) | 3 months ago | My biggest thing is losing my temper and usually its impulsive and I don't think about it until I have already done it. If I wish cool it and walk away then I probably wouldn't say so many things I regret.

| 7. imtrisha11 (61) | 3 months ago | Oh well, I had been in this many times. But the worst of all is being with someone that is wrong. I once had a boyfriend and I was not contented on him 'cause he never cares on me. So I find someone who is better than him. I did not break up with him, I just cheated on him. Then I met this guy. Actually he's a classmate of mine in grade school. I decided to be into him just to explore him and find something new. And so one time I noticed that it was very wrong that I cheated on my boyfriend. But the thought that my boyfriend just take me for granted pushes me to continue what I've been doing. Now, I found out that my decision was right. Also that boyfriend of mine before broke up with me, I did not just found better than him but much better than him rather. My new boyfriend and I share a very romantic lovelife.

8. cynicalandoutspoken (1936) | 3 months ago | I've done plenty that I knew was wrong but in the few circumstances where I was doing something wrong and continued to do it it was by my sheer will power that got me to stop. Quit cold turkey. And I am proud of myself for being able to say that I haven't gone back yet, and believe in my heart that I never will.
