Which foreign language(s) would you like to learn?  |

 Some friends are planning a website, where we can learn foreign languages like English, French, German, Portuguese, etc.
We plan to make it a fun site, with members acting as volunteers. The idea is, people who are passionate about either learning or teaching a language can participate in the site, and we can have fun learning different languages, making friends from all over the world, and having mutual cultural exchanges.
We can teach our mother tongue, to those who are interested in learning it, and accordingly, we can learn the language we are interested in, by someone who is interested in teaching it:)
We plan to have a forum, where we can have discussions, both related to languages and general ones, plus we plan to have a private chat station for members where they can participate in live cam-voice chat.
It would be great to have feedback from all of you, as what do you think of this concept, and if you join a site like this, what language would you like to learn, and may be teach:)

I like very much learning languages even if I didn't study them at the University!!!
yours it's a good idea because, everytime I talked with stranger people they always wanted to speak or write to me in Italian, so that they improved their Italian and I didn't learn more from them.....
if this website will do what you are saying, people should know from the beginning that it's a sort of cultural exchange!!!

I would also like to learn Persian because that is the native tounge where my religion (the Baha'i Faith) began and many of the writings of my Faith are in Persian. This is an awesome idea! I know some spanish and would love to learn more spanish too.

| smellyfinger (573) | 3 months ago | thats cool! in india we use hindustani, which does have a lot of words from urdu, and farsi in it (though the script of farsi is different). farsi words are used very effectively in hindi songs and poetry, they sound so authentic:) | |

hopefully, we wil have a few japanese volunteers there as well.

I don't always have the time go online everyday, but it sure would be nice to have a site to visit and try to learn... I could maybe teach english and filipino..

Right now I know English (duh), I know Spanish which is first language, I'm a bit rusty in French, I only took it three years in high school and I know the basics of Italian. But that would be a good idea. The languages that I've always dreamed of learning are Japanese and Korean but I'm afraid to start learning them because they look hard and I'm afraid that I'll fail and not learn it.
