How Do They Make That... |
|
There used to be a show on TV that I really liked…I can’t remember the name of it but it took you inside factories and such and showed you how things were made. Carpeting, pasta, marbles, duct tape, you name it. I loved that show…I find it really interesting to learn how things are made and sometimes it’s kind of gross to see what goes into making something. Thanks to Youtube, man I love that site, I found some of these shows again. Last night I watched one on how bubble gum is made. Now I grew up chewing bubble gum and I can’t even count how many pieces I swallowed. So you can imagine my surprise when I start watching this video and it starts off by saying that the chewy texture of bubble gum is made up of…are you ready…plastic and rubber!! Yup, you read right…your chewing on a piece of flavored plastic and rubber. To think that I had and may still have pieces of that rolling around in me. I'd definately think twice before letting my kids have any. It’s also interesting to know that it was first invented by a dentist…figure that one out. Here’s the link to it: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Z69N3zwJUIE There are other video’s on there as well, the one on hard candies is really neat, so is the pasta one and the one on coins. Some of this stuff you wouldn’t believe how much work goes into them. There’s even one on condoms which is neat b/c it shows how hard they really are to make…you wouldn’t think so though. Did you like the video? Do you like learning how things are made? Are you surprised at some of the stuff that goes into what gets made? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

2. Mirita (999) | 3 months ago | Well, I'm not surprised that it was founded by a dentist because is always nice to have a gum if you can't brush your teeth at that particular time. It is fascinating to see the entire process of making something.

3. webeishere (9018) | 3 months ago | The one I watch is called "How It's Made". I love watching things made. It amazes me how some things are so easily produced yet others are so complicated. I also love John Ratzenburgs show where he travels the USA showing factories etc. Come Thursday I'll have high speed and I will be able to visit sites with videos and songs etc and it wont take an hours time to watch a 30 second video. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

6. eeyore39 (1136) | 3 months ago | I just bought some bubble gum to see what the ingredients say. No where did I see anything about rubber or plastic. I would wonder how do you know that the information presented on this show is genuine and authentic or just a farse like so much other information. I really do enjoy knowing how things work and what goes into them if I know it is true. There use to be an old saying that went something like this. "Let the buyer beware." This could apply to what your shows are saying. Thanks for the information.

8. zigzagbuddha (988) | 3 months ago | Boy that was very informative and entertaining! I was there for a couple of hours watching some pretty interesting videos! I haven't watched any tv in years so I've never seen any of those shows. I'd watch them every week if I did though that's for sure.
